Given how he routinely complained that there was too much international football interrupting the season, his proposal is equal parts ironic as it is insane.
More than anything else, when are the Euros, Copa America and ACoN supposed to be played if there's a World Cup every other year? If teams aren't playing in a WC, they're qualifying for the next one

They'll mix qualifiers and play the continental competitions in odd years.
2024 - World Cup, 2025 - Euros, Copa America and ACON, for example.

International football should not be played during the domestic season. Football in general should adopt a calendar that allows for this. I realise that different climates around the world would make this difficult but not impossible.

The domestic club football season should run from 1st Sept to the 3rd weekend in April. That is a 34 week season which should allow time for all the required fixtures to be scheduled (In England the most 1 team could play is 62, with no replays in FA cup) International football is then scheduled From 1st May for 10 weeks, allowing for all qualifiers and tournaments to be played in these windows. There is then a seven week gap for breaks, pre-season and the transfer window.

Pinto wasn't good enough to manage Colombia, either. Not sure he's the best judge.
****er's had about a million jobs and lasted 10 minutes in each of them: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jorge_Luis_Pinto

Sanchez has a lot of improvement to do if we're to stick with him, but he's started the season well, prior to the internationals.
He's not even the first centre-half that I'd ship out of our squad, let alone player.

Imagine the carnage that would do to the transfer market. One player's value could skyrocket twice in a week if they have a couple of good games, while another's would plummet if they got crocked during the internationals

Realistically the current model of a two week break where three games are crammed into it doesn't work, especially when you look at the recent timetable of having to play three World Cup qualifiers in a week (i.e. Spain, Italy Germany and England playing on the 2nd, 5th and 8th, while France, Croatia and Denmark played on the 1st 4th and 7th) so what's needed is slightly longer breaks but less of them, for example a three week break that four or even five games can be played

Of course, if the Premier League wasn't such a submissive bitch to Skyte Sports and had a winter break that would be a decent time to have an international block which also lines up with Spain, Germany, Italy, France, Holland...

Turkey are due to announce Stefan Kuntz as their new manager.
There's a nice easy joke for any Greeks out there.

Countries are announcing their squads for the upcoming October World Cup qualifiers. Great...

Arsene Wenger 'ready to take that gamble' over new international match calendar:

It's not your gamble to make, you arrogant ****er.
It's not your sport. You don't own it and neither do your employers, who only care about making more money.
****ing sellout. Wenger out! <grr>

Funny how he's more willing to have fixture lists ****ed up beyond repair now that it doesn't affect him in the slightest...

Emerson Royal's been called up to the Brazil national team for their October fixtures. Great...

Surprised the club isn’t trying to do something about this, namely attempting to get some sort of exemption.

Actually I’m not surprised if they’re not, but you know what I mean.
