  2. Yep.

But just watching the game last night and looking the through the players I could not believe it - how has it got so bad???

I mean come on - Downing, Johnson, Milner, Cahill, Baines, Smalling, Barry <yikes>

Not saying we have much more to be honest - but crikey, it looks like the best chance we have in the Euro's is to play 10 men behind the ball and bore the opponent to death - then play for penalties in the knockout stages.

As for PArker being captain last night - great way to piss off Gerrard. What's the bet he will be perfectly OK for Saturday?

I'm no fan of Downing or Barry. The others had a chance to show what they can do -and against such a good side they did OK.
Robben is rather good, isn't he.

I was happy enough with Parker and would have bought him to sit in front of our back 4 - as Song wanders all over.
Making him captain - well who else? Gerrard maybe - but needs taking down a peg.
Rooney, Lamps, Cole - no thanks.

  4. I'd still have Beckham in the team and as captain. <run>

One on the weakest England sides I have seen in years. Looks like Capello left because he knew - no chance.

It does seem that we don't see eye to eye on much. :)

Parker is one of the players I see as vastly over-rated. Fairly typical english player, lots of effort, strong tackle, but very poor foot-skills and abysmal positioning. Drops-off too deep every single time and then tries to rush in for the glory tackle. Found out badly against us on Sunday, where I thought, along with Bale, he was Spurs' worst player by a mile. Completely off the pace and never stepped up to even try and slow down our midfield.

Song for me is in a completely different class altogether. I wouldn't even compare the two. Can't believe that you would even consider trading them, after seeing them on the same pitch recently.

Cannot wait to see joel campbell play for us next season, the boy is seriously talented, just hoping that wenger actually uses him unlike what he has done with miyachi who has hardly played for us, however he has done well on loan and both should be ready to perform next season, and why are you posting about arshavin??? The sooner we can permanently get rid of him the better.

I quite like Song - but he wanders all over. What is his role? Does he get told what to do?
When he is facing down attacks he's good, but too often you have to wonder where has he gone?
As I said Parker sitting in front of our wobbly back 4 would be better. You don't have to agree !!

im not convinced about song as he makes some errors in play but this guy has done some of the best defence splitting passes, either over the top or threaded through, seen this year, in a season when weve missed cesc/nasris passes he has outshown most in this department .. the fact he fouls so much does not worry me, we actually need this but he does pick up yellow cards needlessly which then adversley affect his tackling late in a game when he has to hold back.

again just like a lot of our younger players since 2006 song has been asked to be the finshed article with kids around him, his development has been slowed by this and seen others take the high road.... based on nothing more then his desire and eye for a good pass he's worth his place .. but in midfield, he ain't no centre back.

parker is 31 and played and learned in teams with greats in them, he has also (this year) had modric and bale vdv etc to lay the ball off to .. this makes playing a simple game easy, we had it with parlour, silva and even platt playing a holding game with simple off loads to great players ... song can't lay every pass to van persie can he.

Drogs, Johnson does not play any games for arsenal .... if walcott was at city how many games would he get for arsenal? ....

walcott at man city would be a bench warmer more then first teamer ...

however based on impact in an england shirt, johnson has done more then walcott ... and only has one goal less in about 13 less games .....

Not sure what you are seeing, but the problem with having any player sitting in front of a back 4 these days, is that you surrender the midfield to the other side. Our game depends on us winning the midfield from the other team, we can't just sit back and invite the other team onto us. I don't think our back 4 is wobbly at all. Spurs, Chelsea and Liverpool have far more wobbly back 4's than ours.

Pah!! we are now counter attacking and scoring.
When we've 'won in midfield' for the last how many seasons, we retreat into tippy-tappy in our half and invite the pressure.....
No we don't sit back we are in shreds most of the time.

TT ....???? Do you actually watch our defence play? ... yes we made spurs look wobbly ,,,, but they looked like our defence on any given saturday ... before we can shout about defending we need to get a back four that thinks a clean sheet is as good as a striker thinks a goal is.

as good as sunday was ..... look at spurs first goal to see a defence in a mess after 4mins play ... you could have driven an oil tanker through it (sideways) and gibbs is very slow at the moment.

Liverpool have let in 23 goals to our 37 .. were -2 in goal difference for away games .. our great gd is from the goals we score at home not what we defend .. sorry mate dont agree with you on this one.... our defence is pony even gus ceaser would get a game.

if saurez gets amongst us tomorrow ..... there may be trouble ahead
