One snag is my mates wife is ill and I'm now going on my tod. Disappointing but I'm sure I'll struggle through.
Got an e-mail from the club which mentions the general strike in Italy on Friday - which is when I'm coming home (I hope). Flying alitalia, and I've not heard anything from them. Anyone else got any updates?

Found something saying Alitalia staff will be striking from 12.00-16.00 on Friday. I would say get there early and prepare to be flexible.
Sadly, unless greensaint (the handsome fellow with the long hair at the rear right) is going, I don't think anyone there is!
This is my only slight concern at the moment regarding the whole trip... I'm gonna contact everyone tomorrow and see what they say. Don't get me wrong there's worse places to be stuck, but I am due in work on Saturday...
Better keep that quiet. Work may regard it as within your control if you know in advance. Sneekyness required.
Same. I'm going to tell them there's a slender chance I'll still be stuck in Milan - they won't be thrilled if I'm not there, but they owe me a favour or two. Something I have learned over the years - whenever you get the opportunity to do someone a favour at work, whether it's your boss, one of your peers, or one of your subordinates, always do it. You never know when you're going to need the favour returned.
