It's looking that way. A case of 'appease the fans' perhaps..?

He chose not to because he 'wanted to see Charlton fans squirm' instead.

He chose not to because he 'wanted to see Charlton fans squirm' instead.
Murray’s very public statement was certainly at odds with the Regime’s “communication policy” of the previous 4 years. The fact that 1. Fans unrest was increasing 2. Duchatelet was asking silly money could have both been a coincidence to the timing, of course.

Murray is playing the fans like a fiddle and dancing to Duchatalet's tune. This is a deliberate ploy, to put off protestors and to help flush out those potential buyers who have shown an interest.
Despite there being perfectly acceptable new owners at the table, Duchatalet is whoring us around his contacts in Belgium, hoping that a few of them will pull together to take this money pit of a white elephant off his hands for some kudos without burning himself too badly and losing any kind of respect amongst his 'community'.
His multi millionaire mates are his 'preferred bidders', with the Aussies as the fall back position if nothing is done by the end of the season.

Totally agree about trying to 'flush out those potential buyers'.
If we were going to get the ambitious owners with money to burn they would've taken us over before transfer deadline day.
Makes no sense for the supposed 'poorer' potential buyers to step in now and fundamentally just pay RD's bills till the end of season, especially when there's no guarantee what league they're buying into for the rebuild.
Top post, this is exactly how I see it too.
Once the 6th place campaign is over (2nd week in April at a guess) protests should begin again regardless.
The ever decreasing number of Charlton fans still willing to put any trust in Murray are being taken for fools now more than ever.
Only Duchatelet knows what's going on inside CAFC.
And only Bexleyboy knows what goes on inside his own head. It's probably better that way.

Still fail to see if a deal is ''done'' how is RD still actively offering us out. It doesn't make sense.
The deal could well be done - subject to contracts being drawn up, the niceties being agreed and signed off and then completion.
Under the instructions of the seller, your solicitors could allow this to drag on for months, should they so wish.

I take that as a deal is agreed then, which is different to being done.
In layman terms, fee's are agreed between clubs all the time, but the deal is only done when the player has put pen to paper. Would that be right? I can't say I'm an expert when it comes to legal matters.

Sorry for the house sale analogy, but you often see estate agents signs saying Sold - Subject to Contract.
