In my opinion... these are the signings we should/could be making

Goalkeeper - Gordan (Can't see Mannone now to be honest... would LOVE it to happen) or Myhill, the 2nd choice at WBA.
Defender - Scharner?/ Lee Naylor.
Midfielder - King/ Papa Bouba Diop?/Norwood?/a return for Adam Hammill?
Striker - Heskey seems to be a sure thing?/ Steven Davies from Derby/ David Connolly/

****ing hell Tickler who taught you how to put all your replies together, instead of doing what you usually do and posting 17? No wonder your total post count has slowed down.
Still that's a bonus for us all.

<laugh> Only problem now is that he quotes practically every comment, even if it's just to say "Indeed", so it still takes up about the same amount of space.

You share my own thoughts on who we should get. I would though have gone for Fuller over Heskey if it were down to me and i also think £1.5m might just get Robert Snodgrass out of TWS. Strike quick if SB can on this one

I doubt very much we'll get Snodgrass, but I agree on Fuller

He (McDermott) will be tolld the same thing as Sockface and Mowbray.........."Sorry, he's not for sale"

Not so sure that "not for sale" applies to Koren or for that matter anyone else now that Bruce is in charge he will have his own ideas. And Koren may want one last fling at the Premiership and maybe he would command a decent fee that would facilitate the purchase of someone in a similar mode but with more potential?

Sorry, but after last season you'd have to be insane to get rid of by far your most creative player. We are almost the finished article. Now is not the time to be ripping things up and starting again.

True and if you can use the funds to replace and have some left over for other players then why dont other clubs go for the cheaper option in nthe first place

What do people think about Gordon? Even if we can't get Vito he wouldn't be my choice. He just seems to have been living off his reputation after becoming the most expensive British 'keeper when Sunderland signed him. He's always injured and is he actually that good when he plays? I haven't been that impressed.

He never did anything wrong for Sunderland, no howlers etc..... Just got preferred and his injuries haven't being chronic re-happening kind of things if that makes sense. Two broken arms which where both different arms so not really injuries that are linked but just unlucky one's really. It all depends, i would prefer Vito as he is a known quality to us, but on the right deal Gordon could be a great purchase.

Considering Gordon was one of the best keepers in the Prem at one time I think he would be a miles better signing than Vito, wages might be high but at least he would be on a free, also no disrepsect to Vito, but he makes the occasional mistake in games, Gordon is obviously a better keeper
