Agree with all you say about Elkie in those Vinegar Joe days.Neither were, or are classic beauties but - I saw Elkie Brooks in her Vinegar Joe days, she'd been poured into a pair of bell-bottom trousers and a tight top, she then oozed lady pheromones all over the stage for the next ninety minutes, she was awesome! Zoe Wanamaker, the voice, the sparkly eyes ..... yes I would, I might even climb over a young Elkie to get to her too
