86-1 after twelve overs. Hmm. I'm making the mistake of allowing myself to feel hopeful again.

There may be trouble ahead......

Still keeping with run rate! Shame we're already got our 2 best batsmen out. If these two can get 200 and still be in, I might start to hope. But we all know how good England are at quickly losing wickets.

....but we all know how good England are at quickly losing wickets.

True.

I think it's going reasonably well so far, however. If Strauss gets to about 120-130 and Bell adds a 50 or 60......

No, I don't like to think too far ahead. Plus, positive thinking almost always results in negative outcomes, in my miserable experience.

Geoff Boycott; "If I was his captain, I'd smack 'im!"

Always full of golden ones, that man. To be fair, I don't know why Bell walked. Still in, but scary times.

Beautifully done by Strauss. (And now Bell has chipped one over the ropes. Glorious.)

I tend to agree with Boycott. (It doesn't happen often, to be fair.) Bell shouldn't have been going anywhere.

Okay, I need to take the dog for a walk - just wanted to see Strauss reach his century.

Well, who'd of thought that Andrew Strauss' marathon ton (And highest score) would overshadow Tendulkar's magnificent 100 and take England to the brink of victory. When I was doom-mongering after India put on 330, I certainly wasn't. So un-England-like this batting performance. These two quick wickets have opened up the game, powerplay curse.... If England don't finish this now, I don't know how I'll feel.

This might come across as a little racist, but I really want England to win this just to shut up the Indian fans! They're probably the most selfish fans I've ever seen, they don't even applaud an absolutely extravagant innings by Strauss, just sit in silence. Wouldn't of happened in England.

Now have to listen to the game as television after 12 years of use appears to have given up the ghost it will be a bit like living in the 1920's but will make the final stages of this game more interesting

Really disappointed by the lack of fight England have shown. Bresnan, Bell and Strauss are the only players who have done well today, so we didn't really deserve to win today. At least Swann is having a go! The message to India; anything you can do, we can do better; late collapses, heroic bowling at the death and huge centuries.
