Sehwag gets away with 3 chances in the first over, suspect he may get a mammoth score as India pilke on a big score

First part wrong, second part looking ominously true, probably well into the 300s! I fear England's batsmen don't have the class of batsmen for this! Glad Yardy is back though.

Tendulkar pulverising Swann! They've obviously planned for him to bat Swann out the attack! Strauss has nobody to turn to! Should add we haven't any luck going our away, but if Tendulkar keeps going like this to the end he could get another 300! India on course for an absolutely huge total!

Marsupial our two teams will be in opposition next Saturday but today we are on the same side, 15 overs left go for 325

Hello, Themaclad. I can't stand the way this is going for England, but Tendulkar is a glorious, glorious player. Nasser Hussein just said that England need a couple of quick wickets or this could become "carnage". Hard to disagree.

    Phew. Bye bye Tendulkar.

I still think England are in a precarious position, though.

Oh dear. Shahzad looks to have lost the plot for me! Really missing Broad, especially as he was captain of my fantasy team too! Maybe it's a blessing in disguise, saving him getting a spanking. Still Pathan and Kohli to come! India's batting line-up is so unbelievably strong!!! To think I though England could win the world cup, ha...

India's bowling line-up isn't really that good, but on subcontinent pitches it doesn't matter, and as India have the best batters, they'll probably win the WC. If this was in South Africa, or Australia I dare say India would suck.

I share your pain, Marsupial. I (secretly) thought England might win the World Cup, too, although this notion became steadily more fanciful as they were repeatedly moosed by the Australians in the one-dayers. Talk about taking the gloss off The Ashes. Deary me.

I've not lost all hope, though - not quite - and must simply content myself with the fact that India seem to be operating on a different plane. Even the very best must have off-days at some point, however. Surely. Please God.

One thing, though - I really don't want England to post a miserable total in response. At the very least, I expect them to get somewhere near the Indian total. I'll begin praying for miracles roundabout now. (I suggest you do something similar, Marsupial.)

Once again Bresnan has actually bowled quite well whilst the team has bowled terribly as a unit. Anderson looks to be villain of the match again! Wheels came off in the field again, Swann being particularly poor. Again. When Tendulkar was going really strong, I thought we could be talking 360, so really the death overs didn't go too badly.

Since I started writing this Bresnan has taken 2 wickets, so I'll upgrade to saying he's been very good.

Well, at least we're still going to qualify in all probability! The hope we have is India have peaked too soon, and we still have yet to pick. Wow, Bresnan has 5 now. Even India can collapse.

Bresnan picks up wickets not by being fast or by variations but by just being accurate. Why can't the rest of the team do that?

Decent start, Strauss cutting with more frequency than George Osbourne.
