I thought I would post a calculation that we will be working out from day one next year in the Prem:

We only need 5 more points to make it mathematically impossible to go down this year!
(though I am sure Beddy will dispute this!)

We aint got there yet - let's be a bit more realistic about it, shall we? It's not like we're 10 points ahead of everyone a la Charlton - we could still end up in the play-offs or worse still, outside the playoffs.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves and give other clubs ammunition to throw at us.

I agree KK - I was just having a tongue in cheek joke. If there is something I have learned from being a Saints fan it is we never do things the easy way, so IF we go up, it will be a last day of the season win to get us into the play offs and then penalties in the play off semis and then the same in the final!!!!

Ah, the beauty of not being able to see someone's facial expressions as they type!!

You're right, it'll go to the wire, if we need a point against Coventry on the last day to confirm a play-off or automatic place, we'll equalise in the dying seconds! We can't say following Saints is boring though........

I think we have already reached that point, you can't just look at the points the 3rd bottom team can get as teams will be taking points off each other and it is impossible for enough teams to get more points that 62 in order for Saints to go into the bottom three.

The highest total any team has got and still been relegated in the last 10 seasons was Leicester in 2007-08 with 52. I would be amazed if anyone has ever been relegated from any league in this country with 62 points.
