I dunno, if I thought I could make the same amount of cash risk free from running a tipping service than from doing the betting myself then I can see the attraction.

I would be interested to know what describes the average user of a tipping service. I suspect (though I have nothing to back this up) that the users of tipping lines etc are in general hoping to use it to make quick cash rather than as an angle to learn about racing, and would probably be better served by putting their £99/month into more important things.

I may be completely wrong about that - please inform me if that is the case.

I wouldn't be against a good investment but so far I have never been close to thinking that £99 per month for a tipping service is a good investment.

If any of you are on twitter check out #getyourtipsout have been watching since Cheltenham and they have been in incredible form. They provides tips for each race everyday.

No way can any tipster make a profit from backing in every race every day. Won't even bother to look.

OK. From now on. You back every selection they put up to recommended stakes and post them before the race on the thread I've set up and we'll see.

OK?

Ron you come across very defensive about this.

Many sites (sportinglife/ATR to name but few) post tips on every race, and although they may not show a massive profit, they do tend to help with my selections on a horse race

Surely this is different to 'using a tipping service'? I read the Racing Post/Weekender/etc, I read what the 'tipsters' have to say, I look at what people have said on here/Twitter/elsewhere/etc, I look at the form myself (most importantly), I then arrive at a judgement on all the available information.

I don't use any tipster service but I use information and other opinions to formulate my own. For example, I might read an interesting angle which I haven't seen and then research it further.

Apologies if I am barking up the wrong tree which is quite possible. <cheers>

Are you stalking me?

I agree with Ron. There's a prat on twitter called the BumperKing who is about 160 points in profit since the start of the year. However, if you look closer he had a big priced double in jan that gave 250 points profit. He's lost 30 points a month since then.

Statistics and numbers can be easily skewed to show a desired result.

There's a huge difference between reading the comments on attheraces cards and joining a tipping service.

There are people on here you could follow for free that would return a level stakes profit.

Sorry, didn't mean to. I just don't think it's possible to back in every race every day and make a profit. A lucky spell maybe, but long term I would go so far as to say impossible. Hence my challenge.

**** me, if I'm wrong I will be very, very impressed. Remember Eddie (The Trainer). Fantastic for a while and then whoops.

No fun backing somebody else's choice. I get more satisfaction from being proven right than the money won.

This is true, if i get a tip from someone and back it over one i fancy and the one i fancied goes on and wins i crack up, i would rather make my own decision, that way i only have to be mad at myself if it loses! Make sense? Prob not. But on the other hand it's a great joy when you find one and it wins.

The website is

http://getyourtipsout.wordpress.com/

I do not have the time to monitor this but Ron... Happy for you to monitor.

Thanks

I haven't got time either Doge. If anyone else would like to monitor, it would be interesting. I remember Eddie (The Trainer) amazing us all with his incredible run but it sadly came to an end. I'm sorry I appear to have come across as defensive. I'm just adamant it can't be done. If someone is making a profit then fair play and I hope it continues.

PS. Would you mind entering the betting Competition here with these tips.

Ron
No worries. I don't have time to posts the tips and really only view the thread when big meets are on the horizon.

I am taking their profit on face value from what they say on their website but then again no tipster will be advertising how much they lose!!

At the end of the day or start of the next they do provide a useful breakdown on each tip and returns/losses.

Go on Horse Racing Index. It's a proofing website where the decent services proof to, and you will be proven wrong. Why would there be no need to run a tipping service? You're not making much sense, are you? They run a tipping service because they are successful punters, and can make money from giving out their tips to members at a cost. They also do it because they love horse racing and enjoy it. It is their job, and they like their job. Believe me, I know many.

I'm actually quite offended by that last comment. This thread was to start discussion about promising, in form services with other professional punters so I could perhaps be made aware of other services i was not previously aware of. If I was asked about the service I am a part of I would discuss that with others, but I am not here to openly advertise. Also Quelesprit, I am not here to discuss horse racing with people who are so obviously misguided. Your second point is actually a little embarrassing, as it is obvious why they do what they do. It seems like you don't like taking advice off people more knowledgeable than yourself, which is rather ignorant, as "these tipsters" possess much more knowledge than you think.

Take a look at Racing Proofing website. Systematic and Equine have been brilliant for years. Aiden Monroe is fantastic, just look at his yield. Nagman are in great form and are over 500 points up since they started, and Formbet have only been going for a couple of years, but have shown great ability since they begun.
