Still believe it’ll be close. Home games are crucial, the Wolves fixture is huge next upWont. Thread ends.
....how would the club handle it ?
To be clear, I'm not saying I think we will (or won't) go down and this isn't intended as a thread to discuss the likelihood of relegation, it's just hypothetical and the club will have plans in place so I'm just wondering what people think that would look like.
I think we'll be fine regardless as we are now a smart, well run club, but with us taking such huge strides to look like a Premier League outfit across the board how could that be dealt with if dropping a league?
The playing side is relatively straight forward I would say, there would be another massive turnover of players as I couldn't see many (any?) of our summer signings staying, and even the likes of Ballard, Rigg, Isidor, Mayenda and Hume would be likely to fancy a return to a second tier having had a taste of the top flight. It will all be comfortably financed by parachute payments and the massive fees a lot of our squad would attract.
We're hugely upgrading our coaching and performance side of things both in terms of numbers and quality/calibre. Would that sort of structure be sustainable at Championship level? Would any of the higher profile recruits stick around? They all come with great pedigree and CVs so would they want to move on or would they see it as just a year to get out of the way with an 'inevitable' return to the big time at the end of it?
Off the pitch on the commercial side would we continue to try and court the same corporate following where the interest will be hugely diminished or would we look to repackage our offerings to attract a kind of midway 'customer'?
Anyone have any thoughts about what the club's contingencies would look like and how easily achievable they would be?
The answer to your question is at the start of the sentence you quoted.
A sentence starts after a full stop not a comma. You stated you were "confident the club had contingencies in place". That does not answer the question "why bother to speculate" Trust in the club, that is all we can do.

We won't.
I agree but you keep reviving it.The thread died of natural causes tbh.
TBH your predictions aren't any real guide ...
... you haven't predicted a Sunderland win all season and probably never will.
You’re like Chris Sutton, would you go back to predicting defeat please!Predicted us to beat Man U yesterday.
Haha. Tough run of games coming up tbf. 3/4 at home though, crucialYou’re like Chris Sutton, would you go back to predicting defeat please!![]()
I agree but you keep reviving it.
I'll do wtf I like pal, don't get above yersel ...
... you've 'regularly' criticised the club, the supporters and this board.
If you don't like it, on here, why not just do yersel a favour and take your intellect elsewhere.
Plenty of good posters have gone recently. SourPatch stopped posting. Prehab gone, MadMackem nowhere to be seen, Scout73 quiet. Shame but it’s clear as day what’s going on…Have I ****!
Show me where. I think you’re mixing me up with someone else.
If you keep telling people to leave it’s only going to be you left eventually.

Oh dear, I've seemingly really struck a nerve somewhere along the line, I'm sorry I've upset you so much.OK, no bother, here you go ... you've only ever posted six other threads yet criticise this board for being 'dead'.
Two threads were directly criticising our fans including the one entitled, 'Our home crowd can f*ck off as far as I'm concerned.'
The others were gripes about the amount of bookings and concerns about the identity of the club.
Your best effort was called 'Really not meaning to put a downer on things' which did exactly that.
So, in five years and only six threads, when the club has reached the Premier League, and been totally transformed ...
... yet you choose the day after a defeat to post a thread about relegation.
I've no idea whether or not you have some kind of personality disorder but I'm sitting here delighted that none of the people I'll meet up with at the Wolves game will be anything like you. It must be a real strain having to support such a miserable personality.
My thoughts go out to anyone who has to come into contact with you on a regular basis ...
... thankfully you hardly ever bother this forum.
Predicted us to beat Man U yesterday.

It was only the criticism of the club I was querying if you look at what I highlighted. Please do let me know where I've done that - I may well have just forgotten, what with my personality disorder n'all.
I think you probably need to add some context to those thread titles too as they actually counter the point you're trying to make, for example the 'Our home crowd can f*ck off as far as I'm concerned.' thread was criticising people booing the club, the manager and the players who I was sticking up for.
