Doyle is on a 2 year loan deal, mate.

I'm not sure Gooch can step-up, tbh. I know he's played at higher levels than this with us but that doesn't mean he's a certain level of player. He's a decent league one player on the form he has shown and no more. I don't think he's got the consistency or the end product for the Championship or higher.

I think Neil might be away in January. He's clearly a baller and destined for the top level. I'd be surprised if he's with us for the start of next season regardless of which division we are in.

The rest you have listed should all be fine. I think the step-up to the Championship is also a lot bigger than most people give it credit for and we are still a little short with this squad to be competitive over 46 games up there.
That’s what we all thought when it first came out he was signing but when he was confirmed the club said a season long loan deal. No mention of 2 years.

Doyle is one year. Was mooted as two initially but turned out to be one. That said, I think he’ll be here if we go up.

Neil was offered higher level before the season started and turned it down to stay. Gooch I agree about. But on his day he is every bit good enough. Just wish he had more of those!

They probably won't all make it, but this bunch of lads at least have the potential to develop over the season and make the step up when we're promoted. There'll need to be a bit of strengthening in the transfer windows, and replacement of the loan players where necessary, but I hope to see at least a few of these still with us when we get back to the Prem.

I think we’ve an agreement with City for a second year if we go up, that’s what I was told.

I thought exactly the same as Nads and that is Man City have the option to extend for a year which would be reliant on promotion. Not saying that's right, like. Could well be nothing in it as you say.

Who would have been wanting Neil in the summer, though? I'm expecting one of the top clubs in the Premier league to come in for him. I can't see him turning that sort of club down. Even less chance of the club leaving it up to him if it's big money.

If we recieve an offer of 15 million plus for Neil. He'll be gone, imo.

Imo there's no way Neil will leave us this season, he's only just made first team squad on regular basis as no one will be bid enough money to prise him away until he proved himself long term.
he's just the type of player we should be building a team around as was Henderson but fans couldn't/ wouldn't give him the time to show his true worth.
mind he was unfortunate to have fathheed as his manager..enough said.
I'd love him to stay for years and play in the Premier league. I really rate Neil. His goal against Accrington and his brilliant assist against Blackpool is the sort of quality that makes people sit up and take notice. I'd fully expect top clubs are starting to become aware of him already. January may be a bit early but if he carries on with this form right through the season, I think we'll have a really tough job keeping hold of him for next season.

Think we got 20m for Henderson , on that basis selling Dan for 10-15m would not be good business imo.
Henderson was a proven premier league player. A big club now would be taking a (calculated) risk on Neil who has never played beyond the 3rd level of English football. I think that this sort of thing we will have to grin and bear every so often as it seems to fit into the model we look to be shifting towards as a club and part of that could well include selling the odd quality academy players for big money to reinvest back into the team.

Top clubs were already aware and he signed for us not them. Hope he stays 3 or 4 years and gets offered a mad contract with a top team and that will mean us and he will have done amazingly. Think he'll be up for playing for his own team and learning for a few years before cashing in big style all being well. And the club to be fair. Hope he keeps his feet on the ground and keeps progressing

As far as I'm aware Sunderland are the only club that made him an offer. I'm not sure why top clubs would have been interested in Neil before this season but I absolutely know why they'll be interested in him after the performances he has put in, now.

I'd love him to stay for 3 or 4 seasons. Hopefully even longer. I can see us receiving a big offer for him well before that, though.

The same reason top clubs have been cherry picking our young lads for years, as they know it’s a high quality academy and previously the club were a mess in tying players down.

Clubs will have been aware of Neill because us the fans were. We’ve lost countless players before they hit the first team, clubs aren’t reactive to that they start tracking them when they are 14-16
