Is their IP address blocked or just the user name they were under?

Because i was just thinking. There is no moderation period on this website like old 606, and it takes seconds to make an account on here. A spammer or a wum could just keep on coming back on and back on making countless accounts. There'd be no stopping them, and the mods aren't on 24/7.

So does a ban on here count as an IP ban or just a user name ban?

Leazes and myself can check IP addresses to see if someone has respawned or is posting from multiple accounts. If a user is banned it's just their account which is banned, if they keep respawning though their I'm pretty sure their IP address can be blocked.

I may well get told off for saying this but whats to stop you just creating another e-mail address, no one is ever going to know are they? Oh and you'd have to change your name.

but you'll still have the same ip address regardless of what email addy you have, because its something assigned to you by your internet provider. theres a way to change it..but most on here im surprised can turn their computers on.

IP adress is unrelated to emails. It's provided by your internet provider - you can use proxies to change them though.

EDIT: everyone beat me to it :(

I imagine it is possible for an IP ban to be put in place though <ok>.

edit; yeah, it is, mick said so a few comments above. <doh>
