Have a couple of scouse bastards than that money-grabbing Judas Andy Carroll.

Nolan and Barton epitomized everything that's still right about the English game today. That's the most well-defined leadership I've ever seen in a team, especially when Diaby pushed down Barton, Nolan was right on him and ready to defend his team-mate while he was down.

Imagine those two thugs in the middle of the park for England. The FA would resign

Great spirit from Barton in particular. In the first half everyone seemed to have given up apart from him.
