Didn’t know that
There you go @Chazz Rheinhold have a look at your battery health and you’ll see whether it needs changing in the first place (mine is 88% compared to new and works fine)
Yeah, 80% is the generally recognised cut-off point (and beyond which Mazuma etc treat it as broken), but mine’s 89% and starting to get a bit annoying. The iPhone is really bad at killing the battery if you have a crap signal, which I do at work.

To be fair though the booking through the phone is where Apple excel.

as denbus says always best to ask on here for good advice

Had my iPhone XR five years
The battery just runs out really quickly!
I’m on a tenner smarty contract
Is it looking like I have to get a new phone ? Or can you buy a new battery?
I don’t want to go back to a contract and be paying 40-50 a month

any suggestions??
Can I ask what you get for that Chazz? My contract runs out in September and i'm not paying anymore £50 to ****ing EE.

Smarty uses the Three Network. Personally would not use Three again after my experience of them but if the coverage is OK in your area should be OK them piggybacking on Three. Same as GiffGaff use the O2 network.

My home broadband is 3 network and touch wood that's been ok so far.
I'm just looking at other connections for my phone seeing as my contract runs out soon.

Used to have unlimited. But now I am at home most of the time using WiFi have a lower one with SKY. It lets you roll unused data forward so if I need extra at anytime, as Imdid in hospital I can just use some of that at no extra cost. Think SKY piggyback on O2’s network.

If Timpsons will do a battery swap for under £50 with a guarantee it sounds decent. See Howden’s post above.

Just recently bought a used 12 pro for my wife, who was also on an XR. I moved from android to a 12 pro last year as all the family was on Apple. Newer phones might be a little flashier or quicker. The main reason I paid a bit more for a 12 is the MagSafe feature is useful in the car, and it uses 5g networks. The XR has neither, but a bit still has software updates if it’s just the battery that bothers you spend the cash and get it sorted and see how it goes.

Assuming you're on a contract with Three including the router, and it works for you and you're happy with it, when the contract expires, check out a prepaid SIM like this https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0BQPXF4D3/?tag=not606-21
It works out much cheaper.

I'm actually with EE for my phone until September when my contract finishes. I looked at their home broadband but that was gonna cost another £50 a month for two years. My flatmate was paying £20 a month for 3 so went with them.
Thank you for the link.

If you’re a sky customer, sky mobile occasionally have some unbeatable deals. It’s worth keep checking it if you’re in need of a new phone.

Have had two iphones on good deals from them. And a dirt cheap Huawei.

Yeah, I meant for your home broadband. If you're just looking for a phone SIM I'd recommend anyone to look at HotUKDeals - people do the legwork for you. Even when your EE contract expires it's probably worth taking the hit and rolling to November when there's usually great black Friday offers.
