Nah, he'd have been a great shout 3 or 4 years ago. His strike rate since then makes Adebola's look respectable. Last season at this level for QPR he scored 2 goals in 13 starts and 9 sub appearances and they were pretty much the best attacking side in the division when they weren't playing us.
Oh ok sorry. I don't think we have a choice. I think if we want to sign someone the only way they'll join is if they're going to start in the team, at least while Hobbs is out. I also think it would be unfair to put that pressure on Cooper. We've got 7 subs again next year, let's just have him on the bench and give him half hour here and there, the odd game to rest the main two and build him gradually into being pushing for the first team berth the next season.
Looking through an OOC list for and saw these all within budget.... Tom Heaton (Cardiff) Jamie Ashdown (Portsmouth) Peter Ramage (QPR) Anthony Gerrard (Cardiff) Lewis Dunk (Brighton) Vicente (Brighton) Grant Leadbitter (Ipswich) Brian Stock (Doncaster) Keith Southern (Blackpool) Stephen Dobbie (Swansea) Roman Bednar (WBA) Jason Scotland (Ipswich) David Connolly (Southampton) Marlon Harewood (Nottm Forest)
The ones in bold I would love to see. As for defensive cover, I'd like to see us go for Michael Bostwick at Stevenage, he looks great and would count towards the home grown rule if we got promoted. As for attacking options, King on loan and a punt on Hearn at Grimsby if they don't try and price us out the market.
The home grown rule is a joke, I can't think of a PL side that's had to leave players out because they don't have enough home grown players. (I think Arsenal were the only club to fill up their foreigners but I don't think they left anyone out). Ramage would be good cover for right back or centre back if Hobbs was fit, I'm not sure I'd want to have him as the first choice CB for 4 or 5 months though.
I'd go for Heidar Helguson at QPR, I know he still plays but if QPR stay up, he might be deemed surplus.
If QPR stay up there will surely be a big clear out from there. Helguson or Hulse would fit the bill for our striker vacancy. However on recent showing, we should be trying to buy King to play up front.
Boro fans hate Hammill. He does not want to be there. Jutkiewicz has also been poor since his £4m move from Coventry. Shows money does not guarantee anything. City will get IMO most from the free transfer list of which there is much quality. watch this space,. No sign of Darius Henderson on saturday. On Millwalls subs bench but spent most of the game chatting with a silver haired gent above the dug-out ? No idea who though.!!!
I would like Mannone Jakupavic ( probably spelt wrong ) Gerrard Hammill A defensive mid that can make things happen unlike Evans A tall striker who can score goals.
Sounds like the same people who have been dissing the club all season long. Why should the Allams put anymore money into the club ? Does not anyone think that £52m is enough by the end of the season ? FFS,, we are all very lucky to still have a club thanks to the last regime. Nick and Adam both said last week that they shall be trading in the FREE TRANSFER MARKET which is fine by me as much quality is there. FFP rules are now kicking in and i doubt that many clubs at all will be spending big especially in the championship. As for the dressing room split the players leaving will be the ones the club want rid of. Lets face it, anyone who goes against Barmby is either stupid or foolish. What have any of the current squad WON or achieved compared to Nick Barmby ? i dont want that sort at the club full stop. If Stewart is one of them then trade him. There is a reason why Man Utd let him go and now maybe we are seeing why ? Just saying like. Yes the rumour mill will be on overdrive and many are just rather funny actually. From what was said yesterday its looking better than anyone (even me) has been thinking about. one bad rumour/story doing the rounds is that the Allams want rid of Adam Pearson as they dont want to pay him anymore. Ehab it seams thinks he can do a better job ? ffs, if thats true thats worse than having Dufferman back. The Allams know more about brain surgery than football matters. The agents and sharks will eat em alive. One other theory is that AP wants the club back and even if its bit by bit.
of they stay up i would expect Bothroyd - DJ Campbell and Helguson to leave for starters. Kenny and Derry rumoured to be joining Colin @ TWS.
i thought it was £4m or will that be after add ons ? either way he has not been very good for MBoro. whichever amount he does not impress me at all. glad we did not get him.
Evans is the player that does all the nasty work, he's a good player, apart from missing two sitters vs Boro, I thought he did well. Realistically, Mannone, Brady and King will be players we will be looking to keep hold of. Will be interesting to see what type of players Nick goes for in the summer. I fear we could lose Koren to free up some funds? If Ghilas continues to do well in France he could put himself on the market. Can't see Garcia's contract being extended in the summer. Cullen is at the end of his contract I believe at the end of the season?
imo, this is a very strange comment to make ? it would be like buying a Ferrari without an engine. Pointless.!!! Looking at the free list we dont need much money for transfers at any rate ? It would not surprise me to see us do a deal for Vito on the never never or at least another season long loan deal IF Arsenal wont play ball on a decent fee. They obviously want rid of Vito.
