You're becoming very entrenched in your position, Yorkie. I dont understand how you can write off the importance of the next two games. We need a confidence shot badly. For the fans management and players. The next game is always the next important, we could theoretically win our first game on Boxing Day and still make the playoffs but it becomes all the more improbable.

I'm surprised this needs explaining but Brum is an away game and they just beat Leeds United and Borough are second in the table and level on points at the top, so neither of these are favourable fixtures.

Of course theryre not favourable, and if we already had a win on the board I'm not sure any one would really bat much of an eye lid if we lost both. On the other hand no match is exactly favourable for us at the moment - everyones above us - so which game are you realistically looking at as one that's favourable where we can get a win.

But games like Aston Villa and the last 45 minutes of Brentford show we can expect at least to get a draw and as fans we can believe in getting more than that.

Some fixtures are easier on paper than others - if it was the two games away to Millwall on 27th October and then at home to Preston on 3rd November I would be saying we need to perform against those sides, but even then we don't necessarily need to win them if we pick up points elsewhere. The next two against Brum and Borough are tough fixtures for an in form side so I'm hoping for but not expecting a win.

Thought I’d stumbled on the twtd site by mistake. Can’t believe a manager can be this divisive after 10 games. No, we haven’t won, it’s not the end of the world (I’m also a fan of the Oakland raiders in the nfl so if I add both together, it’s no win in 13 games for my teams) what would be the point in replacing hurst at this time? A new manager wouldn’t be able to bring in any players until January. This is hurst’s squad, lets give him the time and see what he can do with it

I think the negatives and concerns that supporters have (and understandably so, in my opinion) will take more than a victory to convince some people Hurst is cut out for this level. My personal opinion is to give him until Christmas, unless we go 15 games without a win, and in that case it’s time to cut our losses. We’ve traditionally been a club that gives time to our managers, but I think it would be entirely understandable to seek a change after 15 games without a win. In the event of that happening, a degree of blame should be attached to the main main responsible, Marcus Evans. Where was the due diligence? Why was Hurst allowed to make such sweeping changes apparently unhindered? I believe a Director of Football should be appointed for the future, with a clear blueprint and strategy for developing and playing our youth players, as well as playing an attractive style of football. From what I’ve seen so far this season, we are failing on those two points.

Well, seen enough meltdowns on here even in our play off season with Mick - so if I'm in a ' meltdown crew ' - c'est la vie. I just don't see much evidence of this being a successful reign.

Sure, Hurst's likely to pull a rabbit out the hat soon and get a win - however I don't see us going on a positive run.

As I've said before, make me eat humble pie. I'd like nothing more to be honest than to eat a massive slice of it, us win our next 7 and fly up the table. or 10/15. Something positive.

Stu Watson usually provides articulate, balanced, and considered opinions. I agree with a majority of that article. Another factor I’d add is that in the age of instant social media, 24 hour news, and constant, flowing opinions (of which Stu Watson is a fully paid up contributor), I feel a run of bad form does gets amplified. How many “Club X in Crisis!” headlines and articles do we get in the media these days? It’s why I believe Hurst needs time and am willing to reserve judgement.

We all undoubtedly have concerns, some more than others, and I think that’s entirely understandable. The concerns that the likes of Westy, Fieldmarshall, and Warky have are not without merit, they are based on the cold, hard statistics and the poor run of form we have experienced over the first ten games of this season. We aren’t dealing with a three or four game blip here, this is ten matches without a win in one of the country’s most competitive divisions. I was one of the more vocal supporters of hiring Hurst, I thought it was one of the best appointments we could have gone for and the sort of guy we needed. However, I’m not going to sit behind this keyboard and claim he’s been a success or there have been positive signs over the past few games. He hasn’t (so far) and the positive signs from early this season have largely evaporated. From the games I’ve seen this season (and I’ve watched almost all of them), I don’t blame supporters who want to “cash out” now and get a more experienced name in for that blanket of reassurance. My hope is that the good signs from the early weeks of the season will return, we can build on the good defensive structure we have in the side, and that somebody in the final third can seize their chance and make a difference. We must have players here who can provide a consistent, reliable cutting edge. So I continue to support the club (which I believe everyone on here is doing, whether out of hope or concern), and we can break this winless run. Once we do that, I’d like to think we can notch a few more quickly.

I'm a Seahawks fan and am just glad the Cardinals are absolute dogshit or we'd really embarrass ourselves this season.

Also, have a dislike for the Rams after the left St. Louis. There are enough teams on the West Coast and already a team in LA

I have to agree with the main thrust of your point, that we have 46 games to accrue as many points as possible. The next 2 do not offer any more or less points than the other 44 matches and will not decide our fate.

The target is to stay in the division this season, not make the play offs.

This is where I get a little confused.. We've had minor disagreements before about the stature of the club and what (realistically) we should be targeting. You've previously said we should aim a lot higher than the Championship and that we have a lack of ambition. I appreciate that the circumstances we find ourselves in mean we all need to reassess our expectations, along with this always likely to be a transition season.. But I wanted to ask if your unwavering ambition had.. Well, wavered?

I was originally quite dismissive of the sport, but some workmates had got me into it years ago, and it's surprisingly a rather simple game to understand in terms of the rules, particularly if you come into it with an understanding of rugby rules. Very demanding game though and often entertaining, so I can see why many people are starting to take to it.

I was originally quite dismissive of the sport, but some workmates had got me into it years ago, and it's surprisingly a rather simple game to understand in terms of the rules, particularly if you come into it with an understanding of rugby rules. Very demanding game though and often entertaining, so I can see why many people are starting to take to it.

I've been following it for years, but have gone from trying to follow the sport as a whole, to primarily just following the Seahawks, (Then the NFC West, then the NFC) as it's a bit too much to have an understanding of what the Bills or the Titans etc. are up to as there is just too many connotations in a single game week, so I tend to focus on what could have an immediate (or closer) impact to the Seahawks.
