City fan here - strange to read a forum on which we are given a bit of respect as a side, usually it's "We should be stuffing teams like this..." & "It's only Hull ffs..." etc. Think you're right bout Euro cup, definitely sharpened us up though personally think we've looked a bit fragile at the back, I can see Charlie getting one or two chances. Hopefully Brucey will go for it & not play it too safe, in which case I can see us getting a couple. First day of the season is a bit strange sometimes in terms of results so ya never know. Re your pre season - is 'Arry playing mind games trying to make us underestimate you? Brucey too long in the tooth for that if so...

Been impressed with Bruce's signings this summer........reckon you will do well and be comfortable mid table (usually kiss of death with my predictions!)

One other thing we are on a roll with opening day home fixtures in Prem, 0-4 & 0-5 respectively, so hopeful that you won't keep the sequence going on Saturday

Anything can happen in Any game .

Think you will find most Hull City supporters aren't deluded , we don't consider ourselfs as one of the top clubs and chances are we will get well beat at times

Could go either way though if I was betting on it I would go for a score draw .

Qpr 2 Hull City 2

Talking with Hull fans in local, they would be happy with a point.
Going to game with missus and daughter so need to have bragging rights!
Think if Remy plays we may have the edge, otherwise will settle for a point and honours even in pub on Sunday.

I think Hull are better than many teams in this league, but we can't go into home games aiming for a draw against any but the top 7. You can't draw your way to safety in this division.

Though that is exactly what I expect us to do, especially if Yun/Traore, Isla and Remy don't start.

Agree, but considering our history of first games of the season, Hull preparation more advanced, our squad still gelling, a point would be a decent starter

Once the window closes and we know what our squad is I would agree with your comment Stan, but with our preparation and Hull's head-start a point would be a result imo...

Sorry, but from all sorts of different experiences I've learned that if you set your expectations low you get what you deserve. We may well lose, but if we lose trying to draw a home game against Hull I'll be ****ing furious. If we draw playing for a draw in a home game against Hull I'll be pretty pissed off as well. And I doubt I'll be offered a refund on my season ticket because 'sorry, but we're not quite ready'.

I'd love us to go out and blow them away, but I've seen nothing to suggest it's going to be anything other than the rubbish that we endured for most of last season. I await being pleasantly surprised but I won't hold my breath...

That's precisely my frustration Sooper, I know what I want to see (not kamikaze, but quick forward passing with intent) and I'm pretty sure I'm not going to see it. The players I most want to see - Isla and Yun - I doubt will start. So what I feel is anxiety rather than excitement.
