A little worried about our fixture v Hull City on Saturday. They have just beaten a good Stuttgart side 2-1 in Germany . Hope we are up to it?

Meh. Have you not seen Karl Henry's form in pre-season.

Hull are probably a good bet trying to be as neutral as possible but it's difficult to say how organised and ready we really are.

Well, that result should put Hull as a big favourite next saturday. That will suit as just good....

Hull - 2 competitive games in, bought early, good momentum from last year

QPR - don't know best team, struggling with unfamiliar formation, new buys yet to happen, hate scoring.

    Only 1 conclusion:

    QPR 3 Hull City 0

None of the players who finished Hull City's game v Trencin on Thursday started the game in Stuggart, so basically it was the second string with two young lads making their debuts.
And it could quite easily have been 5-1 to Hull City.

Cant help feeling with a couple of meaningful matches behind them already a well organised Hull maybe to much for us on Saturday particularly as Harry said pre season it has been a bit disappointing. I would hope we could approach the game as a must win game as it will go some way to setting the tone for the early weeks of the season. Lets hope our motivator from Newcastle who played a big part in helping us get through the playoffs weaves his magic on the lads. Come on you Rs

It pains me to say it, but I can't see us winning this game as things stand. I of course hope I'm wrong. A point at best.

In truth, this game will be a tough ask for us.
However, just like the Cup final, we sneaked it and there is no reason why we can't do so again. Winning is not always about the best team winning.

If say we were to have Remy come on with 14 to go, who knows what could happen.
Even our own Bobby Z could snag it at the last minute for us.

That's the great thing about being a fan, we live in hope!

I'm a little worried about every fixture this season but surely it won't be as bad as our last too starts to this league.

Half my family ( via my brothers marriage ) are Hull supporters so I pray to the holiest holy thing that we can win.....or at least don't lose!

Playing a Europa cup team first game is never ideal
They will defo start quicker than us

I expect us to have 9 behind the ball and be 1 nil down at half time losing 2 nil with no meaningful shots on goal.

So, arry keep saying that our pre-season matches are not been as good as expected....Suprise, suprise two second/third class German teams, Leyton Orient, Southend irish reserve teams and Paok from greece (that one was the only team i claasified as a proper team to play against). Who has chosen these team to play against ? I believe we played also against third rate opponents during the pre seasons two and three seasons ago. Just remeber how sharp we were against Bolton and Swansea then....? If we lose 0-3, 0-4, 0-5 or more next saturday we will have certain pattern......

City fan here - strange to read a forum on which we are given a bit of respect as a side, usually it's "We should be stuffing teams like this..." & "It's only Hull ffs..." etc. Think you're right bout Euro cup, definitely sharpened us up though personally think we've looked a bit fragile at the back, I can see Charlie getting one or two chances. Hopefully Brucey will go for it & not play it too safe, in which case I can see us getting a couple. First day of the season is a bit strange sometimes in terms of results so ya never know. Re your pre season - is 'Arry playing mind games trying to make us underestimate you? Brucey too long in the tooth for that if so...

So basically for future years we need to win a cup competition so we can qualify for the UEFA Cup......sorry Europa League thingumy and then we will be fully up to speed ready for the first league game..........

    Or

We can simply get games against better quality opposition......
