Everybody putting Drameh back in on the left (out of position) and dropping Giles. So..., do people think that last night's debacle was the sulky Smoggy lover's last chance? Should he be gone in January, even though we've got to accept a loss on his exorbitant transfer fee? My opinion? If they want him gone to the Boro of his choice, I'll come and pick him up. Edit: Lol. Should have read the Oxford MDT first!
Walter did play a diamond for a while at Holstein Kiel and Stuttgart. If all our wingers are crocked, it would make sense.
Only once have I ever not minded City losing - that was Phil Parkinson's last match, think it was City 2 - 4 Southampton - and that was because I knew Adam Pearson would give him the boot if we lost that one. I am now at the same stage with Wally. 1-3 and we are in the relegation mire. Whenever Wally gets the boot - and it hopefully won't be long - does anyone actually think he will get another job in English football? I reckon he will join Slutsky and Averladze in managerial obscurity. I don't see any other club in this country being daft enough to take on his "revolutionary" style of football
Can we stop whoever it is saying whatever they say to the team at half time? 'Cos it really ****s things up.
Maybe I'm seeing a different Giles to the rest but I don't think he's sulking/not trying or any of the other terms but I do feel he switches off defensively on occasion whether this is concentration or Wally tactics confusing him I don't know. All this Middlesbrough talk I also think isn't fair, as far as I can tell it was more the club trying to off load him than him wanting away but I wouldn't blame him, he agreed to come believing he'd be playing for Liam not Wally
Yeah I thought Giles was ok last night, other coughing up possession for their goal of course. No shortage of effort, certainly.
This week's 1904 podcast reported that Slater had said 1 or 2 squad members were unhappy because they hadn't been moved on during the summer. I'm guessing Giles might have been one of them. To me he looks like he's trying but his heart isn't really in it.
I think he's definitely scrutinised more than others because of the public knowledge about him being close to leaving in the summer. It's easier to notice a problem with his application than with any other player, whether it's there or not.
I heard that but didn't even consider Giles thinking of him as new but wondered about McLoughlin. Think there was interest from other clubs and he'll be sat on the bench again now Hughes is playing
He’s ok going forward but rarely puts in a decent cross, although I reckon I did see one last night but defensively weak and doesn’t get back when we lose possession. Saw him ambling back twice last night when forward players were busting a gut to get back to cover and as has been mentioned several times on other threads, one of those instances was down to his poor control. He wouldn’t get anywhere near the team for me and if we can get any kind of decent fee in Jan, I’d bite their hands off.
As someone else mentioned, I’d be tempted to switch Drameh and Coyle and see how that works. Lewie’s played there before and performed ok and it would be good to see if Drameh can get some consistency if played in his preferred position.
If he doesn’t use the CMs in the build up play he might as well play 2 centre forwards and ask one to drop in when defending.
There are few better at work rate. They will out run, out work and out play us. Typical hard working championship team with a good manager. Can't see anything but another defeat. Always hoping I'm proved wrong but we just don't seem to have any fight.
Going to miss this game, does anyone know how long after the match the full game replay is available on Tigers+?
