I thought Docherty showed a lot of desire, that passage where he beat his full back and got up the pitch showed a determination a lot of others lacked. Pelkas was also brilliant when he came on and I'm not sure why he wasn't starting.
Doc always shows effort.. the problem is that it comes with not a great deal at the end of it...
"I said to the ref at the end, there is a consequence to that (decision). I've just seen it back, it isn't a free-kick, Toby gets the ball cleanly and then it's their throw-in. I understand it's hard, but it's a really soft free-kick, but listen, he's given it and we have to defend it better.

"I always say to the players what I say to myself and that's you have to look after yourself first and what can you do better. We have to defend that a lot better, the first phase, the second phase and the third phase it comes back in and hits Toby and goes in."

I’m really disappointed with the performance," he said. "First half, I thought they were better than us. I don’t think they caused us many problems but they were more aggressive than us.

“That was the message at half-time – believe in yourselves and try. Be brave.

“I thought the first 15-20 minutes we were excellent in the second half. All the momentum was with us but football has got an awful way of punching you in the nose.

“You have to keep believing and stick to the process. I thought their heads probably went down a bit when that second goal went in. We have to do better. The only thing we can do is improve.”
I said last night... a lot to do with yet another new manager with ideas coming in when they were just buying into the old ideas... this is not a bunch of happy campers...

Let's just imagine Rosie does **** and the coach after him does ****. Where does that leave us? What do we do then?

I wish I had the answers, but I don't.
'If' your doomsday scenario does come anywhere near true, then it may bring about the much cliched 'bed wetting' that one or two posters like to mention in the vast majority of their posts.

Likewise any defence that doesn’t have confidence in the keeper struggles
I loved the kid when he came on loan last year but he is not showing the same confidence and commanding precence he did when he came last season.
Figgy is not a ball player, he would be best sat inbetween Greaves and McLoughlin as part of a back 3 for me with Christie and Elder at full back but without confidence in your GK it all becomes very difficult. We used to be able to hear Baxter communicating with the players last year, not hearing that anymore. In fact until Coyle came on I did not notice much talk in the back line at all.

The Championship is just such an unforgiving competition and these blokes are struggling to regain their confidence when week on week theyre being put up against fairly high quality players with no real plan or organsiation that we can see. Maybe Rosenior will be able to address that, who knows?

i'd like to see a goalkeeping coaches opinion on it
but baxter is so still in that whole scramble, then just stands still and watches it like a spectator

the ball lands 2-3 yards from him, surely a keeper is diving for that using their hands...
thats part of their job no?

There was on point Greaves had a go at him for not coming off his line, Greaves literally cleared it in the 6 yard box.

He had a rant. But rather than face up to Baxter and call him out, he sort of shouted at the ground. Compare and contrast to say an Ashbee. There is no way on this earth that Greaves should be captaining a side, it's a joke. (I know he's VC, and 'only' captaining because Coyle is out of the starting 11). One more thing for Rosie to sort out.

I don't understand the spate of people saying "It's only a game" - is it to be deliberately provocative or do they genuinely have no emotional attachment to City?
No other nationality does self deprecating sarcasm like us English, and proof that few understand it is above. :emoticon-0100-smile

Greaves is never captain material in a million years

Point proven then. Doc is a fantastic L1 player and a bottom end champ squad player. He's one of the most dedicated and naturally fit players I've ever seen, but he's reaching his ceiling imo. ( I'll be happy to see him prove me wrong )
He could be a cracking player if, when he had the ball, he had awareness of what was around him! But he rarely does.
