Can anyone explain why Jones wasn't sent off for shoving over Coyle? Is it a red card for shoving someone to the ground face-on, but just a yellow for shoving someone over from behind?
We play (for some reason I can’t fathom) oscar then slater and doc outwide. We only debated on here a few weeks ago having doc and slater as the holding midfielders
What was sinik signed for? I'm not questioning his ability But he is not a winger, he offers the same as all the other non wingers No pace or drive or directness With allahyar, tetteh, traore, tufan, pelkas and seri Where does he fit? Its clear for some games we massively lack width and pace but we don't have anyone to offer that Only options are play christie in an attacking place with fleming on the otherside Greaves and coyle behind them At least fleming and christie make runs with some bit of pace while giving more defensive balance to the exploited wide areas Get longman back in And hope we get some results before we fall into the pit of no return
You don't need to be "that sort of player" to spot that your fullback is out of position. It's basic football sense. If we're really saying that neither Woods nor Seri have it, then we really are in the ****.
I couldn't agree more, this has to be a priority come January along with one or maybe two centre backs who are big and commanding.
They're scared of handballing or fouling a player, not the ball. Very harsh to criticise them both for this very short clip. Criticise the reason it ends up there, not the blokes who have a split second to react to something that is at a horrible height and speed to be dealing with on your own line. If anything Tufan could have swung a leg earlier and attacked that ball but it's hard to see where he came from and why he was even there. Personally I'm wanting Baxter off his line and playing at that ball.
Daws says you make your own luck. I tend to agree. You have to work to make things happen. There is a malaise and I'm not sure why. Players feeling ambivalent maybe, not sure about their future (who is in who is out?), don't know what's happening with the manager situation? That appears to be resolved now so the hard work has to begin.
Oscar is definitely not immobile he’s just playing up front with no balls for him to run onto as we played 2 central midfielders out wide
the more i see it i'm not sure why the keepers not getting that it wasn't some super fast whipped in ball
As I said nobody would use a clip that short to put blame on someone but if you need to pick someone in there it is Baxter for being too hesitant to take command of his area. Still harsh though.
i'd like to see a goalkeeping coaches opinion on it but baxter is so still in that whole scramble, then just stands still and watches it like a spectator the ball lands 2-3 yards from him, surely a keeper is diving for that using their hands... thats part of their job no?
