Even I'm tempted to be positive here...but I'm going to avoid it for superstitious reasons 0-0
 
If we are to really show our metal in this relegation fight, we have to win. If we do, it should take us out of the bottom three for the first time in an age (though after Palace’s surprise at the weekend, it’d be typical for Swansea to follow suit and do Spurs).

Psychologically, it’d be a massive if we can win: the players will have won another ‘must win’ game, we’ll sit on 30 pts with winnables left and it would practically relegate a rival. It’d also set up my Easter break nicely – in a reversal of how our loss to them last season dented it.

It sounds too good to be true.

So, with no real rationale other than its City, what I really fear is that this match could be this season’s ‘Burnley’ – a near end of season pivotal home game against a hopeless rival that we need to and are expected to win (as per our other two PL relegations) that we **** up thus meaning our own relegation becomes inevitable.

Everyone’s talking about Silva’s 3 year unbeaten home record. Everyone’s talking about how ‘boro can’t score. Everyone’s talking about ‘boro not winning for months and even their own have written them off.

It fills me with doom.

If we lose this I will start agreeing with PLT who is clearly a huge **** who is never right (lucky for him the thread I correctly pointed out would be a good indicator of who is clueless about depression and where he wrongly accused me of being offended and stated it wouldn't be like that...and ended up locked). For one whole week. Which goes against all my principles, but I feel so strongly about this game.

Yes. We cannot lose to that shower of ****. It's literally impossible.

This is the one lads. Lump on a regulation 4-0. It's nailed on.

One mauling coming at the right time and Swansea will suffer the same fate as these 6 fingered smoggie ****ers.

That's a fair summary Leon.
A very fine balance between cautious optimism and complacent vulnerability. We saw what happened v Derby in play off semi final 2nd leg when we play against desperate opponents with nowt to lose. We can't afford yet another slow start, another defensive error or formation faux pas. Gestede can't surely be as bad in front of goal as he was at Swansea. Don't let's **** about.
I read the other day it was 163 days now in the bottom 3.
If we get out tomorrow it will be like that memorable scene in 'Das Boot' where U-96's Kapitanleutnant Heinrich Lehmann-Willenbrock finally gives the order for his beleaguered sub to start up the engines after many days under the waves hoping to avoid detection by the Allies.
The war is not over but we are out of the **** at least temporarily.

boro will frustrate us like ****, if we get an early goal it'll be curtains for them

I agree , for all the positive reasons you have listed above , it has a frustrating 1-0 boro written all over it
