I thought the players all tried and in general they won their individual battles. We just play so narrow, we bunch up in attack and don't stretch teams, and rather than using underlaps we cut it back and put in poor crosses constantly.

I feel like for the last 2/3 years I've had to watch us bang our heads against the wall with the cut back Coyle crosses, cut back Coyle crosses, cut back Coyle crosses over and over again. Not knocking Coyle because it wouldn't happen if we were coached differently but it's madness. He does produce the odd great cross but your bound too if you do it as often as that.
Get ready for more of the same in League One! Again , spot on re the coaching . Some great comments on here tonight, hope everybody has a decent weekend despite the obvious, I'm off for a cold shower to calm down

Do we have anyone to do that header tho? Consistently?

exactly, our game plan is non-existent. Cross the ball into a box with no attackers in it. Dither about in the midfield passing sideways. No overlapping fullbacks, wingers that can't beat their man. It's completely mental. I wouldn't be arsed if we just sat 10 men behind the ball and grinded out results, we're just abject. Literally clueless.

Can you find me anywhere I’ve been sneering please?

Selles has done a half decent job with the squad he’s had available. His best two signings in January both got injured.

Today wasn’t good enough and we’ve paid the price. We’ve not been good at all over the last few weeks and I’ve posted as such. But ultimately the blame has to go on the owner for making the change in the first place. It’s not solely down to Selles that we are in this mess - and that was the point I was making.
One game, you give him latitude.. two you say now come on'.... TRY SEVEN

Huffed & puffed, looked like they were trying, ultimately created nothing, shots from miles out never going near the goal, never once tried to get to the goal line & pull it back, when there was an attempt to get the ball in the box, it was to no one!
FFS, where’s Acun now? This is 100% on him!
If he sacks Selles it will compound the already stupid **** he’s done!
We’re ****ed, financially ruined & will be in free fall when any decent players are shipped out to cover his losses!:emoticon-0121-angry:emoticon-0121-angry:emoticon-0121-angry:emoticon-0121-angry

Im not saying he’s not at fault - as I say we haven’t been good enough in recent weeks at all.

But equally he’s not the person I place the most blame on as to why we are where we are.

I really hope we can win next week and escape the drop. However if we don’t and we are one of the three worst teams then we go down. It’s that simple. I really don’t think a lot of us would be surprised at that outcome given the fact we can’t score goals from open play.

what is the problem with playing at home? when we got the new ground, we used to win there. now we don't or can't. it's not just this season. is it the pitch? is it some sort of pshcilogical problem? has someone put a curse on the place? can we get some religious chap to exorcise the place? an ideas?

We will have a league 1 club and be in administration if we lose next week

On the flip side if we win then we're guaranteed to stay up regardless of other results. Got to cling onto that now...

The obvious problem with that however is that we've been entirely unable to score goals for a long time now. We still play like a bunch of strangers and there's no desire to 'go for it'. It's always safety first and by the time we're 'ready' to progress the ball, the chance to break through has gone. It was the same today and has been for months and months.

Had his 'hold what we have' tactic worked I think we'd all probably be singing a different tune - it's such a risky tactic though, even the ****test teams are going to get a chance to score. Amrabat and Kamara were both knackered, Joseph had run himself ragged, they really needed hooking earlier than the 87th minute! Ironic that our only sub lunges in to give away the free kick for their goal.
Maybe, but only slightly.
Derby were ****. Talk about there for the taking. We needed a win, without being cavalier, not to hold on to what we have.
100% agree with the rest of it. Absolutely baffling. I haven't got what he's been doing since the international break, since when we seem to have gone backwards so badly after the earlier impetus. If we end up getting relegated, then after what we've seen today I'd say he deserves sacking, even if it means yet another rebuild.

Selles is deluded. Talks about us being competitive in the game but being competitive against a **** opposition team is no great achievement.
It looked like we were playing for the draw. A draw would still have put us in peril next week.
Even if we somehow manage to keep up, I’ve got no confidence in Selles doing any better next season.

Really does boil down to this. Am incredibly disappointed with the manager today.

Under Selles I can honestly say this is the worst football I have seen for 30 years since Dolan/Hateley. No attacking intent, zero threat, the worst set pieces I have ever seen.

I couldn't care less that since he came in the form table puts us around mid-table, the standard of his football we deserve to be relegated.

Selles is not the man , Acun got sucked into thinking if you buy technical players who are small you will do ok . This division needs height and strength for safety , then speed and a bit if clever skill to compete at the top .
