Some pundits have them struggling. TBH..Virus or no virus, they were so better than us all over the park...Worrying if that's the standard when we face anyone half decent, because Oxford were crap. Only salvation. Still early days and we aren't bottom.

Difficult to judge where we are in terms of being competitive after only 3 games. Just hope the City we saw last week was more the norm than the one we saw this week.

Just one more game before the international break, hopefully we can field a better side after that. Bristol City could be a struggle next week though...

Something wasn’t right as we were utterly dreadful, miles behind them. As if we’d been playing the day before.

I refuse to slag off McCarthey as he’s been thrown in a situation he shouldn’t be in, but I won’t accept Giles shirking tackles, he does it constantly, I thought he’d turned the corner and hope it’s just a one off.

I thought McCarthy improved as the game went on: He was nervous and sloppy on the ball early (and why wouldn’t he be). He gave a few silly fouls away but was also pulled up for fouls which weren’t.

I liked his aggressiveness in defending 1 on 1. He didn’t back off but looked to win the ball, which often led to them having to go backwards.

Needed to be stronger under the ball when they hit the bar. But, that game under his belt will do him the world of good.

Blackburn were an embarrassment at times, throwing themselves to the floor and faking injuries. That behavior combined with a woeful referee made it a difficult game to watch.

Im happy to write this one off as just a bad game, injuries, illness, a bit of bad luck combined with some below par performances was always going to end one way.

First half there was nothing between the two teams, those goals early in the second half were a killer.

Can we just discuss on an attaching corner we have the ball on the edge of the 6 yard box, their big hard defender goes down in a heap and the ref stops the game, waves the physios on. He then gives their goalkeeper the ball runs to the middle of the pitch and waves him back on.

Last week Hughes and Drameh had to stay off for a minute under concussion protocol?

today's ref was really crap - think he'd passed part one of his ref exams but the other parts are still work in progress

Disagree..He ran the show in their midfield, taking the p!SS at times.

Cantwell always did go down under half a challenge at Ibrox but he's got decent feet and vision...Sadly we never today.

Cantwell needed a few 4th Division bone shakers - he wouldn't have ran the show then

Sky sports version.

The managers
Hull's Sergej Jakirovic:

"Before this game we had a lot of problems with a virus and we missed some players.

"Some of the players were ill for three days, they didn't train, and we were short in some positions. But we were bad today.

"From the beginning of this game, I didn't feel good energy or good intensity.

"When we conceded a goal, it was very difficult for us, we were not good on the ball. I can just congratulate Blackburn for this deserved win."

Blackburn's Valerien Ismael:

"When you win the first game it's really good because you start your Championship season.

"We have a difficult couple of weeks behind us. Congratulations to the boys to react like that after losing last week.
We took the right things from last week because we played well against Birmingham.

"We learned from last week, how we lost last week it was painful. The good thing in football you have the chance in one week to change things.

"We stayed calm, and we stayed focused, we dealt with the adversity we had in the last couple of weeks."

Let’s be honest, if he was he was consistently good he wouldn’t be playing for Blackburn.

We gave him all the time and space in the world today and he was okay but I wouldn’t say he was anything special.

Yes I spotted that. I think the difference was the game had already stopped, the ref didn’t halt the game to address a head injury.
