Yeah, me.

The squad was never bottom 3 level anyway, it's a myth. They were always way too good to be relegated and most people wanted Bruce gone BEFORE we were bottom of the league without a win.

So, Howe came in and he's a good coach. A very good coach. His understanding of the mentality, training are all top level. We spend large amounts of money and we went on a fantastic run of form.

For all of this, I am thankful to Howe and our owners, who did good work. The board are still fully aware of FFP and express patience is needed in the market.

But Howe, HAS been bad at rotation. The tactical side, I would still argue is quite substantially his worst side as a manager, lacking any significant changes when things stagnate, unable to change mid game, strategically we are repetitive and stale.

Even before we became ****ing useless we were pretty predictable, we replaced like for like even when we were good.

Gordon off Barnes on, Murphy off Almiron on, Tripps off Tino on.

Every time, 70th minute. Pointless.

So, for me, there is no hesitation, if we lose at the Stadium of Light? Done in my eyes.

If you can't get a tune out of the Toon at Sunderland? What's even the point? Just go.

Newcastle displayed every single flaw we have against Liverpool. We were 2-0 up against 10 men at home nd ****ing bottled the match.

That's a pathetic display. One of the worst displays Newcastle have put out in years, anyone who argues against that is on heroin. That displayed our limitations on every single level.
Was it not 1-0 against Liverpool. Not wanting to poke the fire because I agree with everything else.

Direct quote from Eddie. As I’ve said. He is under pressure now.

Away form not acceptable.

PIF (Public Investment Fund), the owners of Newcastle United, are reportedly unhappy with manager Eddie Howe. The team’s recent loss to Luton, marking their fourth consecutive away defeat from St James’ Park, is expected to fuel speculation about Howe’s potential dismissal.

Howe also revealed in his post-game reaction: “We’ve spoken about it internally, we know how important away form is. We have to be consistent in home and away form. It epitomised our away form today, we didn’t compete well in the first half. We were reactive instead of proactive.”

The pressure on Howe has intensified as the team faces challenges in their away performances, and PIF’s dissatisfaction adds to the talk of a possible managerial change at Newcastle United.

But the point is he isn’t under pressure now. He’s always been under pressure. It goes with the job. He knows it’s a results industry. He knows that and we know that. The poor form does put more pressure on him but that’s not exactly rocket science to work that out.

It’s now a question of what we as a Club do next. Do we panic? Or do we support a manager who has done brilliantly well overall and look at what can be done and when to address the obvious problems that exist. Thereby taking a longer term and not short term knee jerk approach.

Anyway Merry Christmas to everyone on the Forum and their family. And with that in mind.

Stick with him! He has the best bond with the fanbase I've seen in most of my life and has done Well beyond initial expectations so has earned the right given time to show he can weather any storm, the one thing I'd be looking for probably from next season at this point is more willingness to rotate, some positions are harder to do due to lack of quality but right back is a big one with Trippiers age and even left back we should have been rotating between Burn and Targett where needed.

He can do it as he showed with Isak and Wilson I just dont think he trusts many players outside of our first 11 but you won't get away with playing the same players without rotation in our system.

Not "the fanbase", just "some of the fanbase".

Chaos will appreciate that one.

You didn’t see Robson or Keegan? Wasn’t that long ago.

The thing is we suffered 14 years of Ashley. I don’t think it’s particularly difficult for anyone to do better than that - Howe over achieved last season but ultimately is failing now and also doesn’t exactly have a brilliant track record and huge global appeal. I mean, if he leaves Newcastle where's he going? I can’t see a top 8 club taking him on.

It’s now on the ambitions of the owners. We are at the same junction as Man City were with Garry Cook and Mark Hughes. If we stick with Howe and chase a few loan deals in Jan then I will question the ambition and comments from Staveley. I’m not suggesting that we SHOULD be chasing titles and expecting more, I’m only suggesting that perhaps the ambitions that were made so public might need addressing.

Was too young to really appreciate the Robson years, grew up as a Newcastle fan but when my parent split up I stayed with my mum so didn't see much of Newcastle, started following religiously when Keegan Returned, first full season was 2008/09 which would explain my glass half empty disposition <laugh>

£350m spent in just two years, down in 7th with City, Liverpool and Villa up next, out of all possible competitions and a daunting trip to Sunderland. Injuries everywhere, constantly, just lost to ****ing Luton.

As I say, if we’re just plucky Newcastle then all is fine. If ambitions are lofty then it’s been a ****ing disaster so far.

£350 million - how many high quality players does that buy you though, in todays money? Considering that our squad needed every position strengthening and for most of the positions the backup options needed strengthening too... Doesn't come close to being enough money.

Also, for the giggles, let's quote you again from 3 weeks ago 'what a team this is becoming'...

£350m?! What the ****?

Maddison, Diaby, Estupinan, Mitoma, Pau Torres, Haaland, Alvarez, Akanji, Macallister, Konsa collectively leaves about £100m in change.

Of course they’re not realistic but stop chatting complete bollocks.

Yes I was very optimistic about the team that was developing - which makes our awful recent results and form even worse. Do you see me questioning the team, or am I questioning the manager????

Managers are always under huge pressure mate.. he's safe for a good period of time, but he's under pressure for sure.

Totally unrealistic stance.

1. This season 6 other Clubs spent more than we did.Chelsea spent a staggering £434.5m Manchester City rank second with a £216.3m outlay, followed by Tottenham £212.3m, Arsenal £208M, Manchester United £183.5m and Liverpool £165.4m We spent £130M.
The season before we spent Newcastle United - £165.5m but were only 5th highest spenders behind Arsenal - £171.8m . West Ham United £173.3m
Manchester United - £217.3m and Chelsea - £546.1m. These are total spends I believe..
You then consider where we were starting from quality wise.
Then explain to me why spending less than 6 and 4 other Clubs in successive seasons means currently being 7th is a failure? You will also notice Arsenal, Man Utd, Chelsea and Liverpool have outspent us in both seasons so far.

2. It's the position at the end of the season that counts. Not half way through. Yes we have some difficult games coming up but then we have less difficult games after that. We also have a "winter's break which gives some time for players to recuperate and others to rest, relatively speaking.

3. A daunting trip to Sunderland??? Are you for real?? Sunderland's last 6 games puts them 16th in the current form for the Championship. Not the Premier League but the Championship. Yes, it will be difficult as "smaller" club picks up their game in their Cup Final. Yes, it will be a "derby" game and again that brings a greater intensity. But seriously are you trying to tell me that's not a good draw for us even if it's away and that you would have prefered to be playing Liverpool away or City away instead?

4. As far as ambitions are concerned here is a link to what Staveley was saying when the takeover went through.

https://www.shieldsgazette.com/spor...on-her-ambitions-for-newcastle-united-3412282

Also a quote from the Gruniard

Staveley said: “Our ambition is aligned with the fans – to create a consistently successful team that’s regularly competing for major trophies and generates pride across the globe.” She was forthright when asked whether the Premier League title was the long-term aim, telling Sky Sports News: “Absolutely … Newcastle United is the best team in the world. We want to see it get those trophies, obviously. At top of the Premier League, in Europe, but to get trophies means patience, investment, time.”

Now other than coming out with generalisations are you able to say exactly which stated ambitions the Club are not keeping to or trying to keep to?

Also, have you heard of FFP. And do you understand why it was really introduced in the way that it was?

Anyway Merry Christmas. :smiley-finger007:
