So perhaps the right metric is how expensive this side is, how high our salaries are and where we sit in this league? Would that be a fair comparison?

I dunno, it bemuses me as to why we have to keep creating arguments for a manager who is just getting worse. Why is there this bizarre loyalty for the bloke, what is it he’s done that needs such unwavering favouritism?

Agreed, i like the guy but i'm not that attached to him, he is a bit boring aswell truth be told, i'm more attached to Rafa for staying and getting us back up from the championship for example.

Fact is all 4 goals conceded were bad defending by individuals and giving the ball away. That’s on those players no the manager, tactics or training.
Isak fluffed a golden opportunity, nothing to do with the manager. Murphy and Tonali both fluffed headers where the could have scored. That’s nothing to do with the manager. Longstaff, Bruno and Almiron among others all failed to hit the target with good opportunities. That’s not down to the manager.
The team let down the fans today.

But if the players keep messing up, they don't get sacked, the manager does, rightly or wrongly, that's the reality.

Tonali should be starting, i think that's pretty clear, you can't really judge him coming off the bench when we are already trailing.
Ideally yes but apparently was fatigued and feeling cramps after Liverpool so rested. If we want to get to the top we have to be able to do that and if he’d started and got injured we’d be complaining about that. I suppose that’s where Bunce and the technology comes in. Tbh I don’t think that one change cost us todays game

Because like today it was all individual errors and nothing to do with the manager

I can understand that, but when the same mistakes keep happening then it's the managers job to try and rectify that situation. I'd have every single one of the ****ers in training at 6am and running laps in the freezing cold, pissing rain and wind.

Howay man, at the end of the day it falls on the manager good or bad.

Using your logic if a player scores a good goal and we win a game 1-0, it was all down to the ability of the player...what's the point of having a manager then?

Under Bruce Pardew, Carver and all the others it was always the managers fault/responsibility and with Howe it's the players.

That's the way this works right ?

Anyone suggesting it isn’t Howes fault is just being stupid.

Hes the manager. It’s his job. It literally IS what he is getting paid for.

This season has been terrible. The players you can see are not feeling it.

Howe is a boring man. A one trick pony. He’s taken us as far as he can. He knows it.

We just have to move on now.

When he arrived he was a breath of fresh air! You listened to him talk and he sounded impressive, but 3 years on and you start to realise he's beige.

There’s a difference between tactics and individual performance

said it yesterday. He is the Bobby Martinez of the NE.
One good season and boom, bubble burst. Odd good result to paper over the cracks.

I'm beginning to realise what you were saying when we had our takeover was coming from experience. Newcastle are simply the next club to join Everton as a club that tries and failed to compete. I'm pretty sure we'll end up with deductions somewhere down the line.
