I know he could be stubborn, I haven't said otherwise. I've even mentioned at least twice that he was part of his own demise, but his record with us is good and saying otherwise is silly.

There 6 years. Last trophy, 2006.

Not seeing it luv.

2 of those were crap <ok>

The other was a GK who wasn't great but decent. We have a great keeper, we've had a few over the years, Reina was decent.

Torres had a few good years as a pro, the rest of his career has been a failure. He was very good for you guys though.

Alosno is the only truly top player you listed.

People who know a little about football will disagree with you.

Rafa the genius thought replacing the best midfielder Liverpool had had in 20 years, with Gareth Barry was a good plan....

Thats the Rafa we all see.

That's where they are going wrong then. Only knowing a little. Its understandable those people would think players were better than they actually were, they only know a little about football.

Those of us who see through the Liverpool bullshit, see then for what they really were.

I listed it earlier so not bothering again.

He won two trophies under you did he not.

The CL and the Fa Cup. He also had a second place finish once. Ignoring the smaller cups what else?

This is how desperate Liverpool fans are to have someone these past 30 years qualify as a club legend. It's quite sad to put him up with genuine greats.

Lost a League Cup final to Chelsea.
Won Champions League.
Won FA Cup
Lost a Champions League Final to AC Milan.
Runners up in the league.

So 2006 fa cup then yeh? You don't see United fans using Fergies two lossses in the CL final do you, nor the fact he never finished outside the top 3 after 1991/92 season.

Wenger doesn't count Arsenals loss to Birmingham as an achievement does he?

Come on luv, you are one of the more normal ones but even you are stretching it somewhat here.

Dont forget all our 4th place trophies and our Emirates Cup wins :)

Benitez isn't a Shankly or a Paisley. He's not even a Dalglish.
He's far from being a Souness (as manager), an Evans or a Hodgson though, so it's hardly surprising that he's well regarded at Anfield.
He got them a Champions League win and did better than many Liverpool managers of recent years.
Legend? Might be pushing it. Success? I'd say so.

Early success that fizzled out very quickly and soon became a nightmare, one that hasnt ended for Liverpool fans since.

He left Liverpool 5 years ago. You can't really blame him for their current position, can you? He's won trophies since.

Bit unfair to compare Rafa to Fergus as they're at two different clubs. And reigned for different lengths of time... But if you must. Fergus and Rafa both took over a 4th place club. Here is their first 5 years.

Fergie's early years
11th 2nd 11th 13th 6th

Rafa's early record at LFC:
5th 3rd 3rd 4th 2nd

Rafa's last year was a mess. 2 years of fighting with owners and 3 transfer windows in a row selling more than buying he had a bad year and can't really be blamed for all the ownership turmoil outside his control.

Am I saying Rafa is a better manager than Fergus? Absolutely not- I'm not the biased imbecile making ridiculous claims... But if you want to compare them then compare them under similar circumstances. I do think LFC could have won a title by now if Rafa stayed. The Suarez year with Rafa at the helm if no other. (Suarez was already on scouts radar back then so feasible to believe he could have joined under Rafa)

Only once post Rafa have we finished top 4. Under Rafa except for first year when we had a successful Champions League campaign and last year when club was going bankrupt and being torn apart by media Rafa ALWAYS finished too 4.

Rafa did better than his immediate predecessors and better than all those that came after him at the club. He has a fantastic record overseas too.

This witch hunt trying to rewrite history to make him a "nobody" is really pretty silly.

You can blame him for their failings during his final years. The owners make a nice cover story to take attention away from a man who was falling apart.

To give Benitez his due, he did go to Chelsea when that club was in a state of chaos, and he took the bull by the horns, and got those boys some silverware. Sure, it didn't stop any of the Chelsea mob despising him, but that doesn't alter the fact that he is one of their most successful managers. He will always have that on his CV.

The only person referring to him as a legend is UIR. I don't get it.
