Off Topic How thinks have changed.

Cricket in the back lanes with bin lid propped up on bricks for the wicket. Loved the noise it made when you bowled somebody out
Footy in the back lanes, playing doors and generally annoying folks
Knocky nine doors
Down the the on the allotment after tea drinking Gaymers Olde English and playing brag
Waiting till the draymen went into the club for lunchtime bevvy and "borrowing" some botles from the curtain-sider
Playing "Japs & English" down the burn
Going to the scouts, playing Montakitty and British Bullddog
Smoking when you were'nt old enough. Usually Woodbines or Park Drive (you could get tabs in packs of 5)
Makinf a bogie with old pram wheels and scrap wood
Palying muggles in the gutters on the way to school
Playing the nick from school
Looking back it was fantastic and kids today do not know what they are missing, great times great mates plenty of corporal punishment when you crossed the line


Gathering all the straw after the farmers had cut the corn fields, piling it all up in a big pile at the base of a pylon and playing chicken to see who dared climb the highest before jumping off onto the straw below.

Bird nesting. We used to walk for miles looking for nests and usually end up being chased by some irate farmer for being on his land.

Aye loved that. Or the same down the beach at the deathy wall. A git big pile of sand.
 
I remember my mum used to take me to the launderette, then whilst we were waiting for clothes to dry, we'd go over the road to the cafe/bakers and I'd get a proper bacon barm for 50p then I'd slide under all the tables on my back trying to look up the women's skirts.
 
I, and it was all for nowt. No "designer clothes", IT wizardry or mackie d's. Khaki shorts a catty and jam buttie haha

When you'd be stranded in the middle of nowhere and you'd need 20p for the bus home, trying to figure out which relative lived closest to where you were so you could go and scrounge 20p off them.
