How far away are we from a top 4 team ?

Not far. Our defence was one of the best in the league last year, our midfield 3 is better in terms of ability of the players ie. not relying on Adam, Henderson and Spearing. The only question mark for me still is the front 3. Suarez is good enough to play one of the wide roles if not leading the line, we've signed this Morrocan bloke and we've got Sterling to give us pace even if Borini turns out not to be good enough.

I think its going to come down to whether Suarez starts hitting the target (I'm assuming we aren't going to sign another striker and push him out wide). If he does we'll get top 4. If he doesn't there wont be much to choose between us, Spurs, Newcastle and possibly Everton. Arsenal I think are favourites for 4th

It is true and QPR signed Dawson for 5.5 ( almost done) not bad business that either. Believe if it was us after ade we would have blown 16 mil on him, no doubt.

No doubt about it, we would have <yikes>

Although it would be tempting to pay that if they were willing to take one of Cole or Adam of our hands <ok>

Seems it is normally us in the transfer market who get taken for the fool, and then we oblige to it. I hope Assaidi come good as that would be good to have a lower valued player play up to the standard of a much much higher to just prove that we don't have to overpay.

I agree, and it wouldn't be that much of a loss if he doesn't turn out to be fantastic as we only paid around £3m <ok>
 
You'd all better sit down lads & losses, because I think you could get top 4 this season.

You have no goals in your team, but looking at everyone else outside pf mancland, neither do they.

I can barely remember such a derth of Strikers at supposedly top clubs.

Of coutsevthat could and probably will change over the next week or so. You need to strike while the opportunity knocks, a CB, a DM, 2xACM, 2xCF & a RW and you are there.

I mean let's take Michu for example, forget that he scored 2x on his debut, but for Rayo Vallecano a team that just avoided relegation he scored 15 goals from midfield. He was available for 2 million pounds! How do we not have a chance on that, ask pepe, Pacheco, Suso what they know about him, scout him a little?

Things like that boggle my mind sometimes that we supposedly have scouts out there to look for these types of players but we rarely bring them in. If we can't spend massively like City, United, Chelsea, etc then we need to do it the smart way.
