When Hull played Rovers at Wembley didn't City play at home?
If City's home game wasn't moved when a club from this city was assured of lifting the cup then they won't move it to see a city team come second.

I think at the time though we where near the bottom of Division 2, might even of been Div3 cause PL did not exist then, we are talking of the 70's here.

Am I right in thinking they've earned the visit to Wembley by winning just two games? Is there any reason they don't get to the final more often?

Mr Negative again does not get his facts correct regarding how many games it takes to reach Wembley.

Also Hull FC have the fifth best record of any rugby league club in Challenge Cup final appearances. They follow Wigan, Leeds, St Helens, Warrington, having appeared in 14 finals(soon to be 15). Wigan lead with 29(soon to be 30).

Work wouldn't let me have the time off for it the dicks, switched my phone off at 6 and just finished watching - absolutely buzzing. I'd already got my tickets for the final because I'm off to London that weekend anyway, so it's even more of a buzz FC are there.

Last time City got promoted Hull got to Wembley, was always going to happen.

Dutch, today was the fourth win in the cup, we've beaten North Wales, Wakefield, Catalans and Warrington now, although this year was the first since the last time we got to the final we've beaten a Super League club in the cup.

So you'd already decided to go to a match that might not have involved Hull FC despite the fact City are playing at home on the same day?

I think you're on the wrong board.

FFS Four games then, but how many against serious opposition? As for having the fifth best record, that confirms their piss poor achievment, given the advantages they've got over the other pit vilages. Being formed 30 years before RL existed should have given them a head start.<laugh>

It's not negativity, I watched and played in the past, it's just an opinion. The fact it seems to have hit a nerve confirms that as much as anything.

Hull FC have the record for losing more finals than anyone else. Their number of wins is the same as a number of towns with smaller populations than Bridlington. Which is embarrassing.

My opinion is that you are Mr Negative in matters relating to rugby league. My husband agrees and he too has played rugby league in the past. He can, however, appreciate the achievement of Hull FC and support Hull City. I am a Hull KR fan by the way.

I can see why you'd choose to think that. It's not accurate but in my opinion you'll not change your mind and I'm not too concerned so there it is.

Two come through, no matter the sourness. Well done the Airlie Birds, now finish the job.

Anyone want tickets to the Challenge Cup final?

How much you thinking?

I'm actually surprised how many well wishers there are on here!

Those that have wished for Hull FC to lose in the final, remember that next time your winging that a Hull FC fan tells you they want City to be relegated, your no better than they are.
