Only one of the posters on this thread, has ever been to Hull, except maybe to the K.C stadium, and he doesn't have a bad word. There's a surprise eh ? Do you guy's rely solely on the media,to tell you all about the world outside of London ?

I've been to Hull (for work several times, admittedly a few years ago) and my brother went to Uni there. Nice countryside around it, just another dull town to me though, and it does have that isolated feel, because in English terms, it is. Prefer it to Middlesbrough or Sunderland. Unfair to compare it to London, but thats what anybody who has a choice of living/working in one or the other will have to do.

Hubbie worked in Beverley for 3 months...spent a bit of time there

Beverley one of the nicest places I have visited, really nice...slightly posh, but friendly, warm. Hull, not quite as nice, but Beverley was a pretty high bar.

So in short...pretty good....beats Sheffield hands down...have I ever told you how miserable and SCARED I was in Sheffield

I have been there and it's not the worse place at all that could go to avonmouth . The runaway new culture i witnessed however is a sad reflection of us all in the UK and that sure isn't the fault of the people of Hull ...

They take the brunt of the reputation jokes because of a factual growth of a culture most seem uncomfortable with
Personally myself I would spend more time with these people rather than the tossers that fill Kensington and Chelsea ... At the V&A last night at Bowie rubbish ... People there were calling him David this David that

People of Hull you are safe where you are away from this bollocks at these you don't use the word Guys

So you should be proud

Respect

Respect Sir,and yes i can be proud. Also, did you know that Mick Ronson,Bowies guitar man, came from Hull ? <ok>

I must admit I had an impression of Hull in my mind that it was just like the old Hovis add a bit grubby with cobbled streets but was pleasantly surprised that it is a pretty cool place, was at least 20 odd years ago and I had a girlfriend there so spent a fair bit of time there in the 90's.

Ha, a year ago I shut my office a mile away from Selhurst Park, a bigger ****hole I've never seen.

I've lived in Crouch End, Finsbury Park, Woodgreen, Tooting, Chapham and Wembley and living in East Yorkshire pisses all over every one of them.

Your not English anymore.

Soppy ****s. <laugh>

One year? Still on your honeymoon, see how you feel about it in five years, that will give you a better indication. The things you think you hate now will become like jewels to you.

Same could be said of Derby - albeit that my experience was some 20 years ago...
