Knee jerk appointment by the club to appease some of the fans as far as I am concerned. I like Olly as a person but I think he is yesterday's man as a Manager. If he doesn't work out and we go down, I want TF and Les out. Manager after manager can not fail at this club unless there is something seriously wrong at the top. Some of our unsuccessful managers have succeeded after they left us - Hughes is a classic example and Warnock to a lesser extent. If we do go down, constantly picking the wrong man means both TF and Les should go in my opinion. I have sympathy with Olly. He is probably doing his best so I wouldn't be too harsh on him. We are being run atrociously, simple.
This exactly, how in gods name did we get to this point? I remember our last time in league one but we were collecting money in buckets at the time, it's like a text book example of how to waste money and generally f*ck things up
Agree with Fing. The appointment of Holloway looked like one made by a management that had run out of ideas and was looking for quick, popular fix
I think the boards reasons for appointing Holloway were wrong i.e. the popular (easy) vote but in fairness to him he is still very qualified at this level. Things are dire at the moment for sure but we can't complain of knee jerks and then sack a manager after four games. Football is mental, we all know this, you never know when a corner may be turned. I hope we are still in a position to compete come Jan and although I doubt we can expect major investment the board must realise we do not have the balance right in this squad.
My Millwall supporting grandson says the football when he was there was awful and they knew they were done for well before he was sacked...
Les as DOF is a bleeding joke,the players brought in by him have been a f*****g disaster,and he should be held responsible for our predicament.

I think Les has brought in some decent young players Smithies, Hall, Luongo, Cherry, Cousins, Sylla, Pawel, Ariel, Ingram, with Washington the only one who seems a poor buy. But we have got rid of a lot of experience, leader types and quality and not replaced that. These young players need players like that among them to do well in this League.
I agree, and just posted something similar on the match thread. Considering the funding restrictions, Ferdinand's signings have been pretty good imo.

Les would surely argue that Budget restrictions have limited his chances of keeping or bringing in the quality; experience and leader types we need. Hoos will have convincing cost analysis and FFP. To get to the PL now most Clubs have to take a big financial risk to bring in those type of players.
I wouldn't blame Les for the transfer fails. when you are shopping at the cheaper end of the market you are bound to have more relative failures than successes. we've got some decent players for this level but the balance of the squad is not great. It is ironic that for years we complained that our squad resembled Dad's Army and now we have gone too far in the other direction. We need a Clint Hill or two l, January should be interesting.
how much was washington? 3mill + i think i recall,also too many alike midfielders were bought in when all were crying out for decent centre backs and half decent forward who scores goals!.. naivety lack of nous maybe but Les had cash to play with and imo didnt spend wisely..id also wager theres a few derry/hill types out there who were let go in the summer who could do a job for us and not command prem wages too.
I think the players are ok but they are now suffering from a severe lack of confidence. The weakest link is the manager in my opinion. I love Holloway but he's never been particularly good. He's been out of management for ages and it shows. His appointment was a large step backwards.
I dont blame Les wholly,Its the whole managerial set up i question..if you have financial shackles put in place then you have to spend very wisely,and your right re: the young squad,theyre like rabbits in the headlights...never thought id say it but Joey Barton would have been an asset at this moment.
