You’re wrong there, mate.

I’m in this area annually and they’ve never ever suffered like this before.

Israel and Palestinians kill each other annually so why is that newsworthy?
Would get more attention if it were called Jewmaica. Coincidentally the name of my kosher goat curry stall.

Maybe this is why it needs to make the news. You clearly think this is just another storm, maybe a bit worse.

It’s a category 5 hurricane. It’s left loads dead. Destroyed thousands of homes. Thousands homeless. Diseases and viruses are prevalent. Not even the oldest in Jamaica have experienced anything like this.

This isn’t normal for the area. I can tell by your posts you don’t get the reality of how bad this is.

Sorry if I’ve offended you, it wasn’t my intention. I get why you think it should command more media attention and I was just stating my views on why it didn’t. Surprised by your comments around the locals not seeing anything like it as the worst storm they’ve had so far is storm Gilbert in 1988?

So you thought you’d jump on here and tell me it’s just an annual thing because you know someone who died in a storm and it couldn’t be any worse than that?

This is pointless mate. I’m done here.
Things happen all over the world every year which doesn’t get the media coverage it deserves. Just because you were there doesn’t make it anymore a worthwhile event to the media.
Google hurricanes in that part of the world and then come back and tell me it doesn’t happen annually. Losing a single life or property is a tragedy, for you to witness the devastation is tragic. If you choose to take offence at what I thought was a civil conversation says more about you than me.

I've temporary suspended Saf's account until further notice as per his wishes.

He's extremely busy at this time and the site just becomes a side distraction.

I know some of you may have a contact for Saf (assumption) so I will be guided by any future private messages. Otherwise I will use my own mental judgement and timescale.

Anyway, I'll let the Sunderland results guide me, especially if they beat Pool or Toon in the coming weeks. :bandit:

I didn’t realise my comments would have had the reaction they did. It wasn’t my intention to belittle what SAF has experienced. Not sure what I said that isn’t true TBH.

He never mentioned this thread nor yourself.

I posted it here because I noted from his account that some posts were removed - otherwise I would have posted my comments in the Burley Arms, but it seemed active in there this morning so seemed rude to distract it, and as he'd previously asked me to check his Youtube account for this thread a day or two ago it seemed more appropriate to post it here.
