The jeep safari is cool
Rum plantation tour is fab (don’t remember much from that one lol)
Where in the island are you staying? We normally stay on the platinum coast, st James & hole town area. Stunning. Enjoy
Ok thanks. Close to Bridgetown, on the coast. Basically opposite the garrison race course. You rented a car whilst there?

If you miss them, you can actually go and sit in one of their planes in the National Museum of Flight in Scotland. <laugh>

It's really worth a visit.

They've got a superb Concorde exhibition.

Not far over the border, so you can be in and out in a day.

It is a WW2 RAF airbase and all exhibitions are housed in the original hangers and Nissen huts so a visit does have a mission vibe to it.

Have you been? It’d mean coming over to the dark side of Scotland for you, mind.
No,I've actually never been to it but I'll need to stick it on the bucket list or tie it in with my next trip to Musselburgh races:emoticon-0148-yes:

Went to the one just outside York a couple of years ago. Elvington. Recommended. Interesting, and at times quite humbling.

Agreed. It was used extensively in the war to launch bombing raids over Northern Germany by the RAF and later the Free French. There's some really thought provoking displays based around those events as well as some wonderful aircraft on display.

Just to point out (before someone else, probably Castro, does), that I mean RAF Elvington was the home of an RAF squadron followed by being the home of the Free French air force.

My appallingly worded sentence ambiguously suggests that once the RAF had finished bombing the Nazis we turned our attention to bombing the Free French.

I mean Churchill probably wanted to, but to the best of my knowledge he resisted and just contented himself with calling De Gaulle a Gallic **** for the next 20 years.

What you wrote wasn’t ambiguous at all. Churchill on De Gaulle - “Everyone has their cross to bear. Mine is the Cross Of Lorraine.”

Just got back from a Cruise around the Canaries. Missed the Blackburn and Saints games. TUI Cruise, third we've been on. The all inclusive is still good value IMO. Decent weather and good entertainment onboard. Flight home late last night a bit hairy. Thick fog coming into East Midlands and an announcement before we were due to land that we were landing on auto pilot and then instructions how to get off quickly if need be?
Blanket pea souper fog on the M1, M18 and M62 coming home, worst I've driven in for years, must have been one hell of a drive home for anyone driving back from Southampton too.
