Yeah. I'd do that.. It might be worth say a championship striker..

This Mondrian picture had been hanging in this posh gallery, somewhere for ages...years....then some bright spark said it was upside down..
Just goes to show you that some of these galleries don't have a scobby-do.

You're right B & S F. :emoticon-0148-yes:<laugh> Daft Yanks naturally. :emoticon-0100-smile:emoticon-0105-wink::emoticon-0105-wink: Suppose it's possible Mondrian himself was taking the piss of the art exhibitors fraternity ?

Piet Mondrian artwork New York City I hung upside down for 75 years
A photo from 1944, taken a few days after artist Mondrian's death, shows the picture on an easel in his studio in a different orientation.

New York City I is one of Dutch abstract artist Piet Mondrian's most important works but experts now believe it has been the wrong way up for decades.

Despite the realisation, it will remain that way in case the strips used in the artwork come loose.

The picture was created in 1941 and first put on display at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1945.

Since 1980 it's been hung in the Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen art collection in Dusseldorf, Germany.

At an event for the artist's anniversary exhibition, curator Susanne Meyer-Buser talked about the history of the artwork - which uses red, yellow, blue and black adhesive strips - then stunned the audience by revealing its secret.

She said she'd come across a photo from Mondrian's studio, taken a few days after his death in 1944, and the picture could be seen on the easel in a different orientation: the denser stripes on the upper edge.

You do know it’s just suffered the worst floods in 50 years, yes? Flights were suspended too. Might be worth double-checking everything is ok where you’re going.
That’s why I posted it!
We go out next Tuesday.
Jet2 have cancelled all flights until then.
We are with TUI…they have cancelled all until Saturday..

thank you/ i hadn't seen that one. they're interesting. most of the ones in the shop i visited made use of the third dimension.
No worries. I looked because I’ve been to Florence a few times and remembered just such a clock shop. I could see that that one had some quirky pieces, but not as impressive as I remembered either.

But I’ve not been there since 2019 and based on my time in Rome just now I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it had gone in 2020 I’m afraid.

The weather has changed today. It's been 26 degrees, blue sky and sun all day. I am on Alonissos. It's expected more be ok now but Skiathos has really been hit. I am going there on Monday. The ferries were cancelled after I left last Monday. I was on hhe last one. They seem to be running properly again today.

Have a look at the link. That's the main street The shop on the left main street in Skiathos Town. The shop on the left corner is where we bought our ferry tickets on Monday.

The weather will be OK but it is worth sending an e mail to wherever you are staying to check it is OK. Agios Pareskevi was bad.

I got in a **** Britannia inns hotel a few miles away
115 quid for 8 days parking and a night in the hotel
That’s still cheaper than just parking at the airport
I’ve just paid £127 for a week’s parking at Manchester. I thought it was because it was last minute. We only booked the holiday last weekend and we’re going in 10 days.
I think it cost us about £100 in March. It’s not that many years ago that it was half that.
We always go from Manchester because we’re only 40 minutes away.

How much is a taxi to the airport?
