At a guess... two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a saltshaker half-full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, laughers, screamers... Also, a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether, and two dozen amyls...

fear & loathing in last vegas?

I read them all in the 90s only one that engaged me was fear & loathing…..rest bang average. Maybe I need to revisit

just don’t mention the pesky bats!!

Remember a few years ago we were discussing favourite singers in pub after a pop quiz. Young lass behind the bar asked me who my favourites were. I said Otis Redding favourite male vocalist, Janis Joplin female. She said I have never heard her. I bet you have I said. Played her this…

Funny that, our daughter's coming with us, she's been there before on a summer volunteer scheme. Wouldn't be surprised if she didn't accompany us back home...
He went for a woman...naturally
That didn't last that long but he decided to go back there to live, several years ago.
Loves it (Medellin)
Sounds great. Hope you have a cracking trip

Anyone been to the Aland Islands? They speak Swedish but it's part of Finland apparently. I'm going for a specific reason but have lots of time off so hopefully there's some decent things to do rather than just eating smoked herring. Going there this weekend for a week before a few days in Stockholm, which I'm really looking forward to.

Yep. Went with work as part of an annual get together with global colleagues.
We caught the ferry (like NS Ferries but bigger) from Stockholm, got off for the Aland Islands (but nearly missed it as most of us were pretty drunk, enjoying the bar & music by that stage) then stayed there a few days before carrying on to Finland.
Don't remember much other than the nice views coming out of Stockholm, and then a tour of an old ship in the harbour when on the Aland Islands, and having a traditional meal which was an animal cooked for several hours 'underground' in a pit we had to dig and light (just as well I wasn't vegetarian at that stage). Ooh, and Finnish sauna and icy lake obvs.
Good times.

Hej! just back from our first trip to Stockholm, fantastic City with lots of cheap ferries around the islands, Vasa and Abba museums were great, we drove into the Archipelago to a little place called Vaxholm. It was hot but you could still feel cooler air off the Baltic. We then drove across Sweden to Oslo which was amazing, very modern and had one of the great museums of Europe, the nasjonalmuseet, and the fittest women.
