It's probably just me, but I reckon you'd be better off buying a ticket. I reckon the Courts would come down hard on you just taking one, even if you did know how to drive it.
Reminds me of being pissed so being told to leave my car and take the bus instead
**** knows why.
I reckon buses must be tricky to drive sober, but I know now they’re certainly a nightmare to drive when you’re pissed!

I was last in DC in about 2009. Going to NYC in summer, then meeting relatives in DC, hence the enquiry about the train. I've looked at Amtrak website, but its as clear as mud.
I normally just use Rome2Rio website to see what travel options there are, although I suspect that if you go through the actual booking options from there (which I don't bother with usually) it would take you to Amtrak website anyway.

Yeah, well worth the visit is DC. Its about 3h and 20 mins on train from Penn station in NYC to Union station in DC...but it doesn't look cheap, unless you leave at about 4am!!!! Then the price goes up and up.

Info re holiday insurance if anyone can help. Hoping to go to Thailand and Singapore in March 2024. However had major surgery in having my bladder removed and a new one built due to Cancer which as we speak is clear.
Has anyone travelling since having major surgery and if so did the insurance go up massively?

My Missus has had 4 operations in the last 12 months and is now clear, but needs another operation before too long. She's completely fit to travel though.

The cost of our travel insurance has doubled (but is still fine in my mind given that I'm a firm believer in if the **** hits the fan then I want immediate, and the best, backup). We did change providers though. Gave in to the pull of old age and went with Saga.

Thanks Ernie. Kind of feedback I’m looking for. Hope your wife goes from strength to strength.
