Anyone know what it is like to drive in Cuba.
What are the roads like?

We went when it first opened up, roads like most everything else were pretty basic but, it was still the best holiday I've ever had - faded deco architecture, old muscle cars, great weather, fantastic food and the friendliest people that I've ever met; twenty odd years on? Big business has probably ruined it.

Anyone been held up at Dover?

Media frenzy but not telling the whole story shock. If I remember right the EU stamping passports of be its entering and leaving the EU has been going on for 18 months, a new computer system to remove the need for a a stamp and just quickly scan you passport was due to start back in May.

Oddly enough the huge queues on Fri and sat have now gone, and normal service has been resumed.

Anyone got any travel tips (restaurants / bars / places to see) for menorca.
Taking the yacht there in August. Never been before. Another Mediterranean island ticked off lol
We go to Cala en Porter a lot, some decent bars and restaurants, you need a tender for your yacht though, no moorings, ha.
My daughter tells me that a stupid reality show she watches called Below deck, has their yacht moored there, so you will be able to swap sea shanty tales with them.

Went to Cala Santa Galdana - a nice place with a beautiful bay, halfway through the holiday a yacht became beached there, they floated it off two tides later; just thought I'd throw that your way (mebbe a bay to avoid?).

Protaras in Cyprus, overlooking Fig Tree Bay.

Cracking beaches in that area.

Went there on honeymoon.... boat trip towards Famagusta really intriguing as the boats all have to stop in a line in the sea when they reach the border with the Turkish side at the UN watchtower.

Went across the border yesterday to Famagusta, walked round the old walled city in scorching heat and then to the beach at Verosha to wave at the watchtower and to cool down in beautiful clear waters.
Bad news is have to travel home tomorrow night.

A barmaid in my local worked there for a number of years. Mahon, home of mayonnaise, has a great harbour and well worth a visit. But her favourite place was Ciutadella on the other side of the island. Her intention is to go back there to live eventually. Decent harbour there as well -
