my mate just text me saying Owen and Heskey to sign next week . I can defo see Heskey but Owen as well would be amazing, and yes owen did say that about Heskey, a great provider of the ball
Shame Barmbys not around still and then it could be a 5-1 v the Germans reunion, I'd much rather see Owen than Heskey play for us, I can't see Heskey offering much more than Mclean these days, he's a spent force from what I've seen

I think heskey is class and hes gt a record to back it, imsgine heskey n fryat upfront, theyd rip defenses apart in chsmpionship, perfect partner 4 matty

We'd still get plenty of games like we had last season: 20 shots, 5 one-on-ones, no goals.

What are your thoughts on steve bruce i saw tge prem league

Erm, I never really liked him before now, so I think it's going to be weird singing his name and stuff but I'll get used to it. I think he's a good appointment considering who we could have ended up with. I'd have preferred Davies but that's being greedy and I'm thankful we've got an established manager considering what's happened lately. I think Bum_Chinned_Crab said on another thread that the fact we have someone like Bruce who obviously isn't cheap probably suggests he has been offered a big budget, so it could be an exciting time ahead.

Why do you ask?

I hope you are right about the big budget and also that he has the freedom to say what he wants

If Barmby was around it would be more likely to be 4-5-1... And anyone wanting Owen is a bit daft to be honest. He literally is only interested in racing nowadays. Unfortunately he sums up the greedy footballer spongeing what he can when he can with zero return more than most yet somehow he avoids the criticism.

Makes textbook sense. Although did Bruce drop him and its not like he signed him either?

true , didnt sign him .. but never dropped him , had two very unlucky years with injury as far as I can gather but now fully fit and raring to go .. (has something to prove which is a bonus in itself)

Sorry but are you from City Independent? Only they've said the EXACT same thing just now ;). Would be brilliant if this was true though!

Bruce was asked about him specifically in the conference and he said he was an option, but nothing had been done yet. Personally I'd prefer Vito due to Gordon's injury issues and the fact he has made a plea saying he wants to play for us. So not exactly an exclusive they're just making out they know something.

Owen would score ****loads in the Championship you only have to look at the likes of Kevin Phillips and our own Deano from a few years back, goalscorers of his quality thrive. Heskey is a spent force and if Brucey goes down the lines of picking up clapped out players like him then its going to be Stan Ternent all over again and we will be ****ed, mark my words!

Gordon was defo dropped before his injury but I cant recall by who. Might have been Keane actually.
