If, for example, someone said they were an accountant who played in a skiffle band in Kent then it probably wouldn't be that hard to google them, particularly if the band website included info on what their daytime job was. That's why it's advisable not to give too much information away over the internet.
That may or may not be true, Stanley.
The problem with your very carefully constructed argument, however, is that I divulged nothing about myself, other than the fact that I played in a band.
I never said where, or what type of music we played, or what we were called, or what my job was, or what my name is.
There was no two-and-two to put together.
The only way that anyone could have discovered anything about me was by being given the one piece of information that we all have to give to this site. That information is protected by the Data Protection Act, and for very good reason. If you do not believe me, please do yourself a massive favour and go and research it.
