Here we go again...

There's a reason why so many people don't bother coming on this forum, it's because you aren't allowed an opinion. What is the point in a forum where everybody is agreeing all the time, anytime somebody comes in and gives their opinion they are jumped on by about 5 posters. If you aren't up OLMs arse you're an outsider on this forum, it's pathetic.

I come on this board all the time.
I read most of the comments. Some I agree with, some I don't.
I occasionally reply to posts when something gets to me or I feel I can contribute something meaningful to the thread.
I am not up OLM arse in any way. I can think for myself thank you very much.
I am 57, I have seen a lot.
I have attended hundreds of matches (possibly over a thousand, I am buggered to count them all).
As near as dammit i have walked away due to the following reasons:
1) Allams constant lies or changing of mind
2) Price hike
3) Name change
4) Crazy pricing policy (£50, £35) of matches
5) Allams behavior towards the fans
6) Using Barmby as a scapegoat
7) Shoddy treatment of Adam Pearson
8) Just looking at Allam actually sickens me

I can't be arsed to type anymore reasons but I think you get the the picture.

If Asda (add your own retailer) treat you like Allam does with the City supporters then you would shop elsewhere.
Allam knows he can get away with it....but for how long is the question?

I wish he would just sell up and go back to the Melton (or Eqypt) pond from which he came.

Bye Bye Toadface you are not welcome in our common City.

That's 21 pages SO FAR of predominantly anti-Allam vitriol from the same vocal minority as usual. When are you going to learn and understand that the vast majority of fans couldn't care less about this name change proposal & are just happy to concentrate on watching and supporting their team? Cue more vitriol and abuse from the vocal minority!

I am not having a pop, but which team would that be?

I haven't posted on the name change issue for a while. I think, in a way, I just hoped it would go away and I've been concentrating on the football.
Also, I don't think I've ever actually expressed a view as to the Allam's continuing ownership of the club. I am now happy to publicly state that I feel he should go as soon as possible. He is clearly a vindictive, stubborn old man who has become embittered by power and cannot tolerate dissent. He would rather see the club which he claims to have saved in the interests of the community become a soulless shell without a community, than compromise which he would equate with defeat.
As for those who continue to defend him on this site - I accept they are genuine supporters in their own way, but they share the same characteristics and personal failings as Allam. That is to say - winning the argument is more important than the future of the club. WAKE UP! Allam is destroying what we all love and in case you've forgotten what that is, it's HULL CITY.
Bravo top post

No you don't you just like to be awkward
You just like to object and argue for the sake of it I'm surprised more on here can't see it
You're wrong about me, completely.

I realise that looks like I'm arguing but I can' think of any other way to respond to your narrow minded accusation, which is clearly your typical response to anyone who disagrees with you.

Are you related to OLM by any chance?

I can believe that you aren't that bothered to much about the name change but you don't prefer hull tigers to hull City
You just like arguing really.
You seem to revel in disunity which is not good is it.
You probably get a kick out of seeing fan against fan

The more of this argument I read, the more my opinion is beginning to be confirmed. I don't mean pro or anti name change or my opinions about the Allems (actually, I've never met them so I have no direct opinions whatsoever about them).

It becomes increasingly obvious that the real argument on here is about power. Strange, you may think! What power? Since the leading lights of CTWD, a single issue protest group, filled most of the committee places on the newly formed Hull City Supporters Trust, it too has developed largely into a single issue organisation. There is now a feeding frenzy on here as HCST (aka CTWD in drag) lays into anyone who is not prepared to slit his wrists and sacrifice on the altar of "no name change".

They are trying hard to change this whole forum into a single issue side shoot of their ideology. Anyone who opposes the HCST/CTWD view (I know, I'm going to get howled down that CTWD don't exist any more) is vilified, verbally abused, "offered out on to the car park" or told by a "moderator" that they don't have to come online and read this if they don't wish to do so whilst such moderator then proceeds to attack whoever he so wishes (my turn next).

I always believed that the primary role of a moderator in a forum was to encourage interaction, to encourage member involvement, and to encourage a sense of community within the forum, not to lead a pack of members in pursuit of any other forum members who register democratic dissent. I am not saying such a person should take no part but would be best advised to step down to "normal" member status until the matter is finally resolved. That is democracy.

Ah yes, the "power" thing! HCST make a lot of noise about fan involvement, of how Swansea City Supporters Trust has a seat on the board, of how they are the voice of the fans and deserve to sit at the same table as the club hierarchy. "They" of course being the rump of the old CTWD organisation who, miraculously, hold most of the seats on the HCST board/committee. So, if they can be seen to be at the forefront of opposition to name change, using whatever tactics they deem fit, they will only cement their hold on power within HCST. Then, should the Allems sell the club, the HCST tendency will expect the new owners to offer "the fans" (i.e .themselves) representation at club board level. The phrases "beware the devil you don't know" or "be careful what you wish for" appear to have been overlooked.

To my mind, I can understand the Allems' mentality. When your opposition consists of groups of supposedly civilised people calling you every gutter name imaginable, there is little wonder that no resolution has been reached. Some of the name calling has been inexcusable. Both sides can take responsibility. True, the "they can die" comment by Assam Allem was unpardonable but that does not justify the continuous flow of disgusting names I read on here. Plus, I wont omit the hip flask incident; just what you would expect from someone wanting to "represent all the fans" ... not! I am no legal expert but I reckon that the line has frequently been crossed into the realms of internet defamation and slander. The brave ones will no doubt say, "But I just told the truth." Hmmm...

Before anyone starts to call me "pro name change" or "Assam lover" they are wrong. I just wish to see things handled in a less offensive manner. Let us all be proper, civilised fans once more.

Because I don't agree with you?

Er ok.

Filey asked me a straight question. I like him. I'd happily have a beer and a chin wag with him. I gave him a straight and honest answer.

You don't like my answer so, in the normal spirit of the CTWD mob, you try to tell me what I think, and that I am wrong. It's straight out of the OLM Manual of "How To Deal With People Who Don't Agree With You".

If you're wondering why there's 2500 registered fans on this forum, and only a small portion of them post, there's your answer.

You may also wonder why I treat this forum like a pantomime, and treat a few posters with the contempt I do, there's your answer also.

Im the only original skinhead still going to games in my docs . harrington. ( or sheepskin ) and braces.

Though i did see Monte once in his crombie and docs.

I dont believe you prefer Hull Tigers Mr Happy.

That's simply not true, half of the HCST committee had absolutely no involvement in the running of CTWD.

And being a moderator isn't a job, we're just posters like everyone else, we just happen to additionally do a bit of tidying up, the role of moderator does not prevent us from having and expressing an opinion, nor should it.

I'm not a member of CTWD in fact the song sounds terrible when it's sung
I just don't believe the someone would prefer the name Hull Tigers over City
Iff this was such a lucrative idea don't you think that the big clubs would have gone down this avenue long ago.
It's just some people like to be objectionable for the sake of it and you're one of them I'm afraid,

The ignorance of many on here reaches heights that have never before been reached.

Just when you thought the bar had been raised to it's maximum along comes another with another even more ****ing moronic & inaccurate statement.

Oh Strov do give up, enough now: Moving on, my son, his mate & myself have been season ticket holders since Boothferry days and we long ago decided that if the name gets officially changed we are off. It would break my heart not to come again to games but it would be the last resort agains a chairman who doesn't understand. I've supported Hull City longer than Allam has lived in this country but he is driving me and many others away.
Have you actually like any of our owners ?
