Way off topic, but anyone know of a good tv engineer who will visit inSouth Shields? My nephew was loading stuff onto my new firestick and 2 of my 4 hdmi inputs on the tv failed.

Google the problem or ask a question on Facebook or whatever ...

... if all that fails I'll ask my granddaughter.

It might be a while before she replies, it's her 6th birthday tomorrow and she's having friends round <laugh>

Doesn't answer your question, but is it a fancy TV that's worth fixing? You can get a perfectly adequate TV for not too much at tescos and save yourself the faff. That said, I don't know how much TV engineers charge, but I got a price on a fridge freezer repair the other day and he wanted £300. Get a new un for not that much more. Costs £100 to get someone to walk through the door these days.

Can you not plug it into one of the 2 that work? Or are they all in use?

You are right there,£100 before they even touch it.

It’s an LG Oled and I want to keep it. I doubt if any repair wallah would be asking anywhere near the price of a comparative new one, but I’m already cringeing inside at the possibilities.

I can switch them as needed, but that is not ideal - apart from the bother I’m a bit nervous that constant pulling and plugging will eventually damage the remaining ones.

You must have a lot of kit to need all 4 hdmi sockets?

Failed in what way? Have they been damaged?
Failed as in not working anymore. Don’t know what happened. Everything was working ok, plugged the firestick into first hdmi socket and nothing happened. Tried the next one, again nothing happened. When I plugged the 2 devices that were usually plugged in there back in nothing worked. Tried new hdmi cables and switching devices around but nothing works when plugged into those two sockets.

Found this especially for LG tvs and the link shown

And if your HDMI ports are knackered, this'll be cheaper than a new TV

Deal: HDMI Switch, GANA Gold Plated 3-Port HDMI Switcher | HDMI Splitter | Supports Full HD1080p/3D with High Speed Cable https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B075R2DFJ1/?tag=not606-21
I’m trying the solution you’ve just posted now. I will let you know in about 10 mins whether it worked. Just in case, I’m looking at HDMI Swithchers on Amazon. Some quite cheap ones but I think the more expensive ones will be a better bet.

Could try one of these, cheaper than a TV repair man

Thanks mate. Everything is working now - though the picture isn’t as good. I think I’ll still get one of those hdmi switchers though, just in case.

Is there anything that turning it off and on again won't fix.
