Reasonable start to the day.
Went out fishing. Morning warmed up. Sat in a boat on my club water, coat came off. Approaching lunch, cloud lifts, wind drops, fleece off, fishing in shirt sleeves.
Early afternoon, sky darkens, layers on, strong wind and water beat to a froth by hail the size of marbles. <yikes>
40 mins later, sun shining on the piles of hail piled everywhere.
Water standing on the roads, one gateway in one of our fields under 6 inches of water.

Another balmy (or should that be barmy) may day in cheshire.<doh>
but did you catch any trout

Made it - just!

M4 closed twice yesterday between junctions 16 and 18 due to an overturned car firstly, and then a bloody lorry load of rice spilled all over the carriageways - they had to close it because of the danger to Chippenham Chinese restaurant staff collecting their stocks..........<laugh>

After queuing for ages, we all got flagged off the M4 at the Bath Junction and couldn't have got back on until J15 Swindon East so I flipped the sat nav for an alternative route......<doh><doh>

Bloody Bath, Bradford on Avon, Trowbridge, Frome, Warminster, Salisbury - it took an age to get down here on those A/B roads and didn't arrive here until early evening. Ah well, unloaded and all sorted by about 8pm, it was time for some food (and drink) - no bottle was left unturned.....<laugh>

Got up this morning, had a coffee and a Kitkat - all's well with the world again. <ok>

Should’ve pinged me a PM Sparky - we could have had a few beers together discussing Severnside derbies and Anglo-Welsh relations in the comfort of one of my local Swindon hostelries whilst you waited for the M4 to be cleared!

Would have enjoyed that R&W - do you have anywhere that will accept 4 dogs?

Actually most pubs in Swindon Old Town accept dogs. The Goddard Arms and Longs bar only accept them in the garden but most of the others allow them inside.
Obviously only if they behave themselves of course - just like humans!!!!

That was my point - you haven't seen my 4 dogs....<whistle>....<laugh>

Have a good one Sparks. <ok>

We will be in Poole for 2 1/2 weeks from 12th July.

It will rain. It always does......

You should be OK for the weather when you get down here Bluey, it's going to get better but it's absolutely pissing down here in Brockenhurst right now. <ok>

Had good sunny day though walking down at Steamer Point. Brilliant walk along the beach toward Highcliffe and then climbed up the cliff (there is a purpose built walkway!) back through the clifftop nature reserve to the car park.

Maybe go to Christchurch tomorrow - lovely place but seems populated by a bloody miserable bunch of coffin dodging senile residents. Does it cost anything to say "hi there", "good morning" or even "please stop your dog pissing on my leg"? Can't stand miserable people with no time for the pleasantries of life.

Anyway, just finished a nice meal of sausage, eggs, bacon and chips prepared and cooked by me for my entourage - the four legged ones just had a sausage. A bottle of good old fashioned Wolf Blass red later, and I'm even ready for those zombies down in Christchurch. <ok>

Watch out for their motobility scooters. Bloody everywhere. <doh>

@BluefromBridgend Lots of rain down here last night Bluey - it honked down from early evening through till the early hours and it was heavy stuff.

Nice first thing this morning though, so we thought we'd take a stroll down to the bottom of the village to have a look at the ford and the lovely stream running across the road. Usually about 6 inches deep max in the summer, after that rain drained off the forest heath last night it was running at well above axle height and at quite a pace. Sat on a seat alongside it, waited and watched..........<whistle><whistle>

Most car drivers were sensible and did 3 point turns from both directions - it's easy to avoid it with a short detour. Then along came a couple of big offroaders, one out of the village and the other off Burley road. They ploughed straight through creating a bow wave but with no problem. Behind the one off Burley Road were two ladies in a white BMW 1 series who thought they'd do the same. Cough, splutter, bang <doh>......<laugh><laugh>

There was no danger but you should have seen their faces when they had to get out into the water. I would have offered to give them a push but the dogs had had enough and wanted to go back home.

Quickly and quietly no doubt.

And I thought you were a gentleman Sparks. :emoticon-0136-giggl:emoticon-0136-giggl:emoticon-0136-giggl

@BluefromBridgend How's Poole Bluey?

I think you've picked the best of the weather if you've just got down here - last fortnight has been a bit indifferent to say the least. Was in Poole yesterday and walked the lovely Poole Park for a couple of hours - the best sunny day we've had so far and it looks like it's here to stay - we're heading back tomorrow. <doh>

Dissappointing news for us is the owner of this cottage/bungalow we've stayed in Brockenhurst for years just told us he's selling up his family home in Yorkshire and decided to move down here to this place - <steam><steam>

Will have to look for somewhere else down here, though I know a bloke in Brockenhurst whose daughter lives and works in London and lets out her house. Had an external look at it this week and looks just the job, but the holiday letting prices for next year have gone through the roof with this bloody pandemic.

Hey ho, It's only money and you're a long time dead. <ok>
