If, LM’s win percentage is not any better after 131, and not 58 games, then this becomes a valid point of discussion. Until then, it’s just pointless.
whys it not valid?

So going desperately close to financial fair play points deduction and putting millions each year into the club not good enough for you?The season is over, we’ve spent whatever money we got from the sales of Semenyo and Scott, and we’ve gone backwards. Very depressing.
The above quote by AshtonRed is spot on in my books. We are extremely quick in selling off our best assets but have never, by my recollection, ever re-invested the money to properly improve our squad. When you sit back and analyze our transfer dealings over the last 10-15 years it is clearly evident that Lansdown never had any intention of a major spend on new talent and that is a shocking damnation of his ownership. Stubborn is the word that comes to mind when I think of SL and although our revised stadium, and his investment on infrastructure, is something to be rightfully proud of the same can't be true of the pathetic attempts to supposedly make us an annual contender. It has taken me a long time to really wake up to the antics played by SL although I have questioned his commitment on too many occasions and I have come to the conclusion that all the time we are under his stewardship will take us nowhere quickly. The superb fan base and a stadium that most can only dream of is clearly not enough for the money man to give back something for the supporters to enjoy. The football currently on display is shockingly inconsistent to say the least and despite the fact that so many of us think we are going nowhere under Liam the song will remain the same as long as certain people stay in a position of power or aren't sacked.![]()
I actually like what I think Manning is trying to achieve. Quick, pass and move - it’s attractive to watch.
If only we had the players with the skills to carry it off…………..
Agreed doesn't look good business, but he spent that after Nige sold the £20m player he had in the side for most of his tenuretrouble is he spent 5 million quid on two donkeys.
Bit of a stretch to claim Nige sold him.Agreed doesn't look good business, but he spent that after Nige sold the £20m player he had in the side for most of his tenure
No more of a stretch than to say Manning bought Armstrong and MayaluBit of a stretch to claim Nige sold him.
Not really. There’s a difference between wanting to sign someone to wanting to sell your best players. Most managers will want to sign players, but won’t want to sell their best players. No more of a stretch than to say Manning bought Armstrong and Mayalu
Ok - I accept that - so that must mean that LJ wouldn’t have wanted to sell Pack or Brownhill either, but he gets slated. Not really. at the time [ January ] it was pretty much a general concensus that selling Brownhill was stupid we were beginning to gel! in with a chance ... but it all went Downhill FROM THAT POINT.... I’m flying back to Stansted from Gdansk this evening but I might be able to catch some of the game from the airport.I will be following our team tomorrow, loyally and with complete support (TV only these days) but if our demise continues how much longer can our owner leadership be coated with Teflon.?
I have said this for a while Wiz, we can blame successive managers if we like, but the questions have to be asked higher up at the club as to why we don’t make significant progress.I will be following our team tomorrow, loyally and with complete support (TV only these days) but if our demise continues how much longer can our owner leadership be coated with Teflon.?

We have tried young ‘up and coming managers’ and the ‘wiley old fox’ managers and still not seen great progress …
away on boxing days can only grab bits on phone updates ..............I’m not watching
we have nothing to do with it. the we would still have Pearson in charge with money to spend rather than then latest novice. the we in charge is Steve Lansdown a man who gives the bucks to spend to the novices while managers with WINNER on the cv get to tidy up the **** before Steve brings in another novice!!.
