See, and without wishing to offend anyone, this seems like a fundamental misunderstanding on the part of the fanbase to me.

Performances were dropping away under Mowbray. Mowbray is a good coach. Beale is also a good coach. Beale has the same players to work with as Mowbray, there are still the same gaps in the squad, the injury situation has arguably gotten slightly worse. There are only so many options open to him to change things up.

A new manager bounce usually occurs when a team is really struggling in the league. A new manager comes in and the first thing he does is make the team hard to beat, parks the bus. Results pick up on the back of that. Beale hasn't had to do that. He's had to try and keep the same team playing in the same kind of way.

One non-league manager I know reckons a manager makes at most 10% difference to any given team. I think that's modesty on his part because he's very good but it's reflective of the fact that it's the players on the pitch who have to do the majority of the work. There is only so much a manager can do if the players can't or won't follow his instructions.

Stats don't tell the full story. They should never been used out of context and a falling xG doesn't fully reflect how dominant were against Hull, for example.

Beale is right, some minor things fall our way and we could have got results from both Ipswich and Hull. If that had been the case, the conversation around him may have been different. The margins are very fine. Years ago, Graham Taylor was sacked by Wolves because they were relegated. They lost their last game 2-1. They hit the bar in the final minute. An inch lower, they draw, and he keeps his job.
We dominated the ball against Hull but did little with it.

We've gotten worse under Beale, not better. The intensity has drained further and I think the togetherness looks to have lessened as well.

Mowbray wasn't the answer anymore (but he had earned some goodwill), but Beale isn't showing anything on the pitch or off it to persuade fans that he wasn't the wrong appointment.

Dropping Rusyn when he did was madness.

Not playing anyone wide right game after game is madness.

Leaving subs until so late is madness.

Beale himself saying his record is similar to his predecessor as his defence is just plain stupidity... the last guy was sacked.

he might turn it around and hope he does but it's now turned a full coach vs fans

just get rid now and save all the **** on over the next couple of games

i'm scared to see how toxic it will be if we go 1 down tomorrow

Conversely, interesting to see what happens if we are 3 up at half time and win 5-0.
Wonder how the disbealevers will then seek to return their vitriol onto Speakman. Oh....just thought...Stoke are ****,it'll be a one off fluky win and the not good enough transfer window we deserve...we haven't signed the 5 players we need.....chancers out!:emoticon-0102-bigsm FFS man!

pooooo the rest of the sunderland's don't like you then cos of that ahahah

nuts man he's went full on attack instead of just staying silent

It's all so predictable though. Some said this, including myself in the head coach thread in December. It's how he interacts with the fans pre and post match, it just really annoys people. And here we are, everytime he opens his mouth more fans get engaged.

Just get shot. He can go somewhere and coach behind the scenes and delivery "some of the best coaching witnessed" apparently

Don't let him be the main man. Well not at s club like ours.

i agree mate i'm not a fan of him at the moment
and to be honest would be content if he went tomorrow

but if we win tomorrow he deserves credit
if it's his fault we lose
it's also him who would of got us the win

I thought everyone in footballworld got media training. Did bealio doll off that day?

"The fans are entitled to say what they want, my job is to win matches, that'll win them over. Let's talk about football Mr sh*t stirring reporter"

That's all you need Michael!

Possibly tidy up the last sentence.

To be fair to Beale, I have had a fair few snide comments both pre and at games about my accent. Which considering how large our exile fan base is, is quite strange

I'm born and bred locally, moved south for work in my late teens, met a lovely lady and stayed, picking up strains of the local accent without realising it. Came back from time to time for a visit....any amount of so called friends I'd known throughout my school life taking the piss out of me for my accent.....some in fun....some not so,quite spiteful. It happens.

There is no coming back from attacking the fans. Surely the club can see this

Pity not all of our followers feel the same marra.

I had 40 years away from the age of 5, 98% of people since i moved back home have been spot on, the other 2% have left a lot to be desired

Right what’s the answer- we sack him fair enough who do we all want ?
i'm not joking and i might get stick, but i'd give it to warnock till end of season

and then go back in the summer for still with are tail between are legs

Well now Klopp's leaving Liverpool, surely they will have someone who has the respect and gravitas Beale tells us he has on their radar as his replacement. I for one believe we should "step aside" and let the uber coach blossom there to take up his rightful place amongst the giants of football :emoticon-0102-bigsm
