Clough should never have gone there and the Leeds board should never have appointed him. He'd spent years slagging them off. They quickly realised they'd dropped a bollock and got rid of him. That group of players were pig headed enough to get relegated just to spite him, so it was the correct decision to get rid.
Ultimately it eventually worked in Clough's favour, you could argue. Would he have won two European Cups with that Leeds side determined not to play for him?
I'm not saying it's an identical situation, but we've replaced a popular manager with someone the support already had big reservations about, and he's already got us going backwards. We've seen all this before, if not at this speed.
