Interesting Interview ..the main thing that scares the bejeebers out of me is how MA said its...all up to Charnley and not owt to do with himself re manager & future etc ...If that is the case ...championship with JC as pathfinder and guide next year is my bet

There should be no way back for Charnley and his dancing monkey, but I have a horrible feeling Charnley, at least, will be here for a few years more

I'm hoping that he is sincere, and good for him for admitting it's largely his fault.

Hopefully we will get financial backing but I can understand what he's saying about him not being charge of footballing decisions.

He knows nothing about football, but hopefully he'll take this as a lesson and start becoming more involved.

Gonna go against the tide for a change and say I thought that was actually a decent interview. He was obviously ****ting himself in front of the cameras, and couldn't hide his shyness, but that's not a crime. Fair play to him for standing up and taking things on the chin though. He sounded like this season has taught him that its about more than financial stability. let's hope so anyway.

He should have done that interview 7-8 years ago. He has pretty much committed himself now. Win a trophy or Champions League place? Well Mike there needs to be considerable investment for that. You have stated that we have the financial resources to 'punch above our weight' and that Charnley makes the football decisions. Time for you to put your money where your mouth is.

So it boils down to 'well yeah have made an absolute disgrace of ourselves, we are now going to start doing what we should have been doing all along'

we'll see. At least this statement of intent guarantees a new manager, as you cannot spout all this rhetoric and then keep someone of carvers level in the managerial position. Worryingly though, and as ashley himself says, the same clowns who allowed him to take control of the team in the first place will still be making those decisions.

Couldnt believe he was actually interviewed though, i thought they were going to roll out an impressionist or someone in costume (not that we would know what an impression of him sounded like anyway.) The whole thing was bizarre.

not so sure m8 ,,look at it ..his rep is shattered to bits ...he knows this ..what he has shown is that he is . willing to gamble .. which he just won in the pursuit of money ... he don't care about nufc ... appointed fools . well he might sell if we get 4 th one year ..now that commitment for the long run eh

Why can't he see that we could all have some incredible times at St James? We have the third biggest attendance in the country, and a massive following.

We should be ready for blast-off not scrambling near the bottom of the league every season.

But when you buy a football club you should know that it's about more than financial stability ....

You should, but it's clear he didn't. His model of doing things (that I don't agree with) has brought him success at everything he has tried and he thought it would here as well. It doesn't work like that though.

Hmmm........ basically he said he didn't hire Pardew, that was Lambeezies call, he wont be responsible for the next managerial failure that we pick up on the cheap, that will be Penfolds fault and we can now 'punch above our weight', our current weight being below the goliath that is Southampton apparently. More likely he doesn't like the recent bad press surrounding SD and this is a very, very desperate measure on his part to 'calm the masses'............ he has had 7 years to let us hear his voice, but not a sausage. SD gets some **** on the TV and suddenly he is gunning for a Champions League spot.............. do me a ****ing favour. Smoke and mirrors and nothing more.

Agree smoke and mirrors and season ticket renewal.
Don't be surprised when you find he has been blowing that smoke right up your ass!
The man is toxic and should not be trusted an inch.
One win and one interview does not a champions league team make.
Let's see who comes in as coach and who is sold and who is recruited, before we start to redeem this lying slime bag !

Anyone who believes that moronic cockbag deserves everything they get. He's not learnt lessons and it's all bollocks, more lies...more of the same next season... Don't be fooled...Don't renew season tickets!

Also he considers getting 4th place winning something? What trophy do you get for 4th again??
