Might have already been mentioned on another post but I'm seeing a few people are getting in touch with trading standards about the membership scheme. Basically if one person signed up in June and another signed up beginning of August, then one would potentially pay 2 months more then the person who joined in August for exactly the same thing!!! How can the club get away with that???

It's not for a season, it's for an ongoing monthly membership, so they're only paying more if they decide to stop going. The way they've done it is not very clever, but I doubt Trading Standards will be all that interested.

I know we want to protest but we have to give the players our support. They are up against it from the start and they need to know that we are behind them 100% and the same with whoever is the Manager. Whatever the planned protest is can it please be done before, at half time or at the end of the match. Never before has it been so important to sing loud and proud and try to be the 12th man cos the players are gonna need it, and lets hope Hernandez is still here and continues the way he has started in the pre season games.

We are well beyond that now! The players are as pissed off about the way the club is been run as we are, and if they could they would state that as well. We have to make ourselves heard for 90 minutes, none of this before, half time and the end of the game as that is when the cameras are focused on the studio and not on the football and crowd. Maximum effect is needed.

They aren't though. The person signing up in June is paying for the privilege of a better seat. Regardless of the fact that a lack of sales meant the person in August could still get just as good a seat, that is the point of signing up early and there's nothing illegal about it.

Trading Standards rules don't apply to Hull Tigers.

Apparently Trading standards are interested, not sure anything will come of it but it's outrageous that someone can pay 2 months extra but not receive anything extra at all. Same as if there is a 3 month notice to give then February next year submit your notice to stop membership in May so you don't pay in June and July.

I agree with what your saying but still find it appalling

They're obliged to look into any complaint, it doesn't mean they'll actually do anything about it, though the fact they've already had a warning about last season won't help them. As I mentioned above, you only get a benefit if you cancel your membership and stop going, as there's a rejoining fee to stop you getting any benefit from cancelling for the close season.

Also surely it should have been set so the first payment for everyone came out beginning of August so everyone started at the same time. that way regardless if you signed up early to get a better seat you wouldn't be ripped off for potentially £100's of pounds to get that better seat.

But the point is you pay more to ensure that better seat..

But as per the City website on the 13th June, the club were encouraging people to buy a membership asap as an £84 joining fee will apply after 23rd June. Therefore, for some it was not wholly about 'paying for the privilege of a better seat'.

First payment came out July

And did people paying after the 23rd pay the 84 pound fee?

Name another club where you do that??? Everywhere else if you buy a season pass in June you pay for example £500 and pick your seat, if you buy one in August you pay £500 also and pick a seat that's left. We should have been the same whereby 'sign up in June to guarantee your seat but first payment isn't till August'

When sales are terrible and they scrap the joining fee again then surely the people who don't cancel in the close season will have valid reason to say 'why the hell am I still paying when joe blogs cancels and rejoins in August to save 100's' I totally agree with what your saying just each day I become more and more baffled about how they are successful.

I don't know. Why does that matter? My point is the club gave, at best, misleading information which will have coerced some people into joining earlier than they might otherwise.

The Trading Standards issue relates to the inference of a discount for buying early. In this case the discount was the waiving of the membership fee if you applied by a certain date.

They got slapped wrists for doing similar last season. It could be why they're now ringing people for membership payments, as Trading Standards are looking into it.

If you know the details of someone that applied after the date, and didn't get charged membership, trading standards would be interested.

The point of the protest is to get our grievances out to the global community. To have the protest at the time you suggest would be a total waste of time as the cameras wouldn't be on the stadium.

Rick has buckled. The Curtis Davies Photo has said he wants to support the boys. I can understand that. Look at what a ****ing catastrophe they are being left to face due to incompetent owners.
