These "academics" use the terms "Uncertain", "Believes it would be uncharacteristic", "Probably not" so they can not say for certain and are not definitive proof. They are peoples opinions as I said earlier. Pointless going round and round in circles saying the same thing over and over. I refer you back to my previous post about being bored by something you can neither prove or disprove so is some academics theory. It is theoretical. Good night.

Yes, theories based on the available facts. That's how history works. As I said in the beginning, its widely held historical thinking. But you're so brilliant that you know better some of the world's leading historians. <ok>

mate you waste your breath on him, he started slagging boris off for stealing taxpayers money, i showed him its his own party doing the cheating, and i didnt list all of them, not a word back from him so next time he surfaces with .Keir Starmer is working class yet his parents put him through Oxford, no reply against facts

Now he comes out with an article from his favorite news source the BEANO says it all really,he ask lots of questions but legs it when he doesn't like the answers. Yet he will keep changing topics and tactics till he thinks he has got you with a Beano cartoon,<laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh>

even the socialist worker paper says its Labour using the wrong policies, which goes against the grain of the voters who are turning to Tory policies, They were even warned before the vote they were in trouble, 60 years in power and nothing to show for it but empty promises, now 73 % of the voters have turned against them, yet there are still some who continue to throw their toys out of the pram ,and refuse to see the writing on the wall

The increase in benefit sanctions runs almost directly in a line with the use of food banks. You have to be referred by the Jobcentre (when they have stopped your only means of support) or a doctor is my understanding. The 6 week wait for the initial payment of Universal Credit, and the sanctioning of welfare payments by the DWP is the main reason for the 1000% increase in their use. In the 6th largest economy in the world the fact that over a million people used them last year is disgusting. I hope that you never have the misfortune of losing your job and finding out how bad it is. 1 in 60 people have.

And there would be a lot more jobs being lost if the labour government were in.

Starmer has campaigned for lockdown after look down. Lockdowns create huge job loses, which lead to people needing food banks.

If labour had it their way, we would still be in Europe, way behind on our vaccine rollout, and in a continuous lockdown since last March.

A terrible party, with left wing delusional policies, and a history of borrowing their way into crippling the country.

Listening to why people voted Tory makes me fear for the human race. Most saying they voted Tory for change despite the Tories destroying the nation for the past eleven years in government.
This epitomises every thing wrong with the Labour party, its like you wrote their manifesto. The Tories are **** so vote for us. We have no credible policies , no credible leader but we are better than them. Laughable at best

As an ex serviceman if your looking good in Lycra i hope you don't have long hair, especially being arse high in you bike saddle, with an auld crusty like me behind you slap at the ready:rolleyes:

This describes my 64 year old sisters experience with the DWP, they claimed she wasn't making enough of an effort to find employment. Who the **** takes on 64 year old women. She had no income for more than a month so had no option but to visit her local food bank to feed herself and her son, he suffers from Asperger syndrome. He's the smartest and brightest lad you could meet until you actually try to interact with him and then he just collapses into himself. He can't be left alone, what should she do?
She cried because of the shame she felt taking a food parcel, she cried because she couldn't look after her son. She cried because at the age of 64 she was reduced to taking charity for the first time in her life.
The worst part is she is allowed to do charity work, she worked for the Sally Bash 2 half days a week but she is classed as not looking for work because she can't find a proper paid job. This is the only work she can find.
This is what the Tories do, they push the hopeless, the needy, the none productive to the edges of society and let charities provide for them. I've helped when I can but I have no income, I'm living on my savings and will do until my pensions kick in which is in 3 years time.
If you vote Tory or champion Boris you are complicit in creating this new underclass that has no means to support themselves, these are the people who need the help food banks provide. Of course some will take advantage of the situation as master-simpson says but that doesn't mean they all are overweight scroungers as he describes them.
There are some people on this board that think a big Tory victory is a good thing, in fact they seem to be celebrating it. It ****ing isn't, it's a disaster for those who can't support themselves.I despair for the poor and unwanted when I read some of the posts on here.
Thomas Jefferson once said."the measure of society is how it treats the weakest members"

How about the "fact" that it was written when she was only 9? Now that is an actual fact.

mate i don't want to argue with you you are a great lad who is well liked however
she doesn't have to get a job just produce proof she has been sending out cvs
before it got to the stage she had no money for a month could the family not ask local assistance agencies for help
Surely the salvation army could have helped here
As she lives in the north east we have been under Labour rule for at least 60 years, surely in that time scale they should have set up systems for this very event
I fail to see how you can lay the blame on the Tory party for this one when the local labour party has had years to prepare for people who may slip through the system.
Why do you think 73 % of loyal labour voters switched allegiance, because the labour party couldn't give a **** about them so long as they had a cushy number
Labour has had the biggest defeat at the elections, in 80 years, the so called party of the people have lied to the people incessantly for years. It's time now for action and to be honest i can see them getting in power again.
Whilst i feel real sorry for your sister there are systems in place to stop what has happened to her,

Like politics, the truth is always more complex than people want it to be. History, politics and life are never black and white. In the case of Marie Antoinette, there is a good body of evidence suggesting that she didn't say it but no categorical proof of that. In the case of whether or not the Tories are evil, there is anecdotal evidence to suggest that some people's lives have got worse under them but a large number of factors that have lead to their financial policies.

!00% agree. As they say there are 2 sides to every argument.

In relation to politics people will always have differing opinions based upon how certain policies may have affected them personally.

On the Marie Antoinette "thing" there's even notations that Louis (i think) relates how he'd heard it said of a Spanish queen or princess some 150 years earlier. There's even a chinese translation form 500-1000 years before that.

No I do not know better. I know exactly the same as the "world leading historians" in that none of us can say with any certainty whether it happened because a. We were not there at the time. and b. There is no evidence either way because it was so long ago. You can have as many theories as you like it does not prove it either way. So it is just as likely to have happened as not happened. I will not reply to your nonsense any more as you have not provided the irrefutable proof I asked for and someone on wikipedia saying it "probably" didn't happen is a guess. Continue with your nonsense and I will put you on ignore.
